Honestly, I’ve been waiting hell of a time for this review. Being pretty sure about your assessment. It’s definitely one of my best game in my collection referring to WWI. Thank you Gentlemen for your analysis and time.

The artist for the game, Tardi, issued two fantastic and devastating graphic novels on World War I that you might enjoy. I picked tgem up as a boxed set a few years ago, and the art and storytelling are spectacular.

Love the illustrations straight from the Graphic Novel by Jacques Tardi.

See page 11 of the rule book under Draw Deck Construction. Each turn your deck will only contain cards with the eligible Turn Code in red. Makes a huge difference, and really adds an ebb and flow to the battle as the German offensive runs dry and the French solidify their defense.

I am starting an online petition to make A&G replay this game and do another review as they played it totally wrong. And as I ADORE this brilliant design, I am completely bummed out they didn't play it right and didn't experience the game as designed.

The artwork of this game reminds me of the the cooperative multiplayer cardgame called Poilu/ Grizzled. You might like it also.

I was surprised by just how much I enjoyed this game. It very elegantly models trench warfare in that initial attacks are usually extremely successful, with the real difficulty lying in maintaining your momentum. I'm not sure where the issue came in (perhaps translation?), but I also found the rules to be far simpler than my initial interpretation from the rulebook.

Where was I when this first came out? I really hope they reprint this game. I’ve always wanted to get into WWI games but I’ve either been overwhelmed by how complex they are, or turned off by how uninteresting the art and components look. Steal Inferno seems pretty straightforward as far as the rules go. I already have so many games that go 3+ hours, so the relatively shorter time is good. The art sets a heavy but approachable tone, and the blocks, while abstract, look good. This game seems to capture the feel of trench warfare. I’ll be keeping my eye out for it.

I respectfully disagree with Grant that Flamethrowers is that important. The BIGGESTcards that both sides want are the two Air Superiority cards. If/When I catch up y'all at a convention some day, I want a match!

Such a huge rule mistake! This game is one of Volko’s all-time favorites (his top 5 for the 5g4d podcast). Please revisit the game with the correct rules, you won't be sorry.

The card decks are always in flux. You only have cards in your deck that contain the red bubble at the bottom of each card. In this way, the Germans start very powerful but get progressively weaker and visa versa. Not sure about the rules. Seems easy to me. BTW...This game is in my top ten and is balanced although it is hard to play well.

to clarify, a player REMOVES cards that are not in play that turn and ADDS new cards. Y'all need to play this again as you didn't play "The Game" at all. Bummer.

Guys you made your decks with the cards that are available in that turn so you never get cards from turn 6 on turn 1 or 2 for example. Have you play like this or you put all of the cards and form the deck?

I don't know if this has ever happened before but this is why I am trying to start an online petition that the TPA MUST have "first ever" redo on playing this game. Such an elegant, original and FUN game deserves a real review. As it is, the review makes no sense as they are talking about mistakes. C'mon guys!

Calm down mate every people make mistakes in games and by this time they already know what happened and for sure they will play the game at some point with the correct rules and get a new experience. Don't forget that they play hundreds of game each year and have to learn a lot of rules every week. Merry Christmas everyone
