This was my childhood 🔥🤘

In case you need to know, you can turn sharper by using the L1/R1 buttons while on the ground. L1 for left turns and R1 for right turns. Think of it as airbrakes in the Wipeout series. I haven't played the Xbox version so I don't know what buttons to use there.

I haven’t played this yet but I miss EA Big so much.

Me too, EA Big (Mainly SSX) was a huge part of my childhood.

I liked this game when it came out. I had played the life out of the first Sled Storm on PS1. One of the first games I played that utilized the Dual Shock controllers. Good times.

I never got the chance to play it when it was originally released, but I imagine I would've really enjoyed at as a kid.

Interesting. I've never seen this, but looking from video it looks like original PSX version had better physics and animations. Loved one on PSX and it had quite kick ass soundtrack. Enjoyed listening Rob Zombie and racing 😊

On the of EA Sports BIG, plz do Freekstyle. Out of all the games they have published, that is probably the best one

Retro Game Rater but be warned, this is probably one of the hardest arcade racers I’ve ever played. But, it is better than Sled Storm in my opinion

Thank you for the review, really well done. I didn’t know this game but I’m a big SSX enthusiast so I think I’ll give it a try. Loved the MGS2 panic theme at the end too :)

Absolutely loved this games back as a stoned teen. I realize it has its shortcomings, but I can't help but wonder how well a concept like this could be realized with today's graphical/hardware capabilities. Shame extreme sports games are all but dead and buried...😢

Love this game still play it like a few times a year

This looks something I would have enjoyed. I liked the Sled Storm on PS1 a lot but, unfortunately I never owned PS2 (was an Xbox -player those times)

And another thing it will always be part of my collection.

I remember loving the heck out of Sled Storm 1 and SSX Tricky. I had high hopes for this when it was released since it was following on from a favourite game and seemed to be the start of EA Big trying to build a cross game universe since it featured my favourite SSX character, Zoe Payne (aslo Psymon). I don't remember why, I just remember the disapointment.

I though this game was quite good for a ps2 game I enjoyed it quite a lot but I never played any other sled racer so I have nothing to directly compare it to

It’s still one of the better sled games. There hasn’t been a major sled game released at all in the past 10 years. Last one was ski-doo snowmobile challenge on the ps3 and Xbox 360.

The original Sled Storm on PS1 had similar issue that you mentioned. It was quite a clunky game, but could be fun and enjoyable. I still have my copy of the original game and still play it from time to time. Never tried this version though.

@@RetroGameRater It was a pretty simple game, nothing critically acclaimed of course, but fun for what it offers. My friends and I got good fun out of it.

Reminds me a bit of Freekstyle (another EA Sports big title?) which suffered from horrendous rubber banding and such crazy physics it was hard to keep on track. I've seen this a couple of times on the E of Bay, but I might give it a pass.

Retro Game Rater I was lucky to find this for $3 at GoodWill

So this guy gives it some cut Downs sometimes he gives it some kudos.I don't know about you but me personally I think it's an excellent game despite some glitches here and there. I love almost everything about it. I still play it to this day and I love it. Even though I may have an Xbox one it's still good to pull out the old School PS2.

Destruction derby raw, sled storm..flat out.

It looks and feels more like XGRA than SSX to me.

Honestly if you grew up playing this game then youd realize that those "flaws" didn't matter as a kid the maps the gameplay the secret jumps the sleds were over the top fun for its generation and ask yourself this its 2021 almost 2022 what sled game is as wild and fun as sled storm? None

I agree. I loved this game as a kid. The unrealistic over the top jumps, tricks, and tracks, along with occasional foul language from the characters all really appealed to me as a kid
