Holdovers was lovely - really enjoyed it. A sweet movie in the old school style. Saltburn was stunning - the look, the performances, everything! I keep thinking about it. Barry Keoghan is just so all in. A movie that will stick with me. Seeing Poor Things (love the trailers) and Maestro this week. Not sure when or how I will get to see Anatomy.

Maestro was a hot mess. I'm so glad to see the general reactions to it now that it's out are far more divisive than what people have been portraying since Venice. I was actually shocked by how bad it was. The story never knows what it wants to be. It literally jumps from scenes to scenes. We go from Carey telling him to "give it a go" in reference to his sexuality and 20 minutes later it's like 15 years later and they're having this huge blowout about how awful he is. Total mess. I know I've rambled on lol, but one last thing, there is no "coming to terms" with his sexuality and life. He literally is shown partying and hitting on a younger man immediately after his wife's death. It's just a total mess. To go from Star is Born to this is such a let down, for Bradley as an actor and filmmaker.
I really didn't like Saltburn. Seemed so artificial and vain and empty, Pike was great in it though

Saltburn is gorgeous, expensive garbage. The actors, production value and craft are all A-tier. The script is just pretentious, over the top rehash of The Talented Mr Ripley (a far superior film).
