I’ve only played this solo…and while there are some issues…a few tweaks and this game became a lot of fun. Thanks guys. Good stuff.

I know you knew this but Little Big Horn was in Montana. Enjoyed the review.

We got a 4 player game and the Indians won big. I was the southern tribes and started very aggressively attacking settlers as soon as they came on to the board.. losses were brutal but I started stripping cavalry away from the wagon trains. Only 2 wagons made it to safety out west. A fun game. Noble savages vs Rasta buffalo soldiers and Yugoslavian settlers.

Good stuff guys! I think your play, Alexander, will help me get through the rules quicker. I am going to have to fly out to Indiana to play with you guys again. Don't worry about the noise. The buffalo stampede was atmospheric and helped us get in the spirit of the game. Sounds like the buffalo stampede was having more fun than you. though.

I did watch an older review over the weekend (can't remember what game...No Retreat maybe?) from 2017, and I can absolutely verify that the boys look YOUNG :D.

Glad to hear other people enjoyed this game more than me. I unfortunately had too much confusion from the rulebook and found the solo lacking, also felt the combat was way more slow and attritional compared to the mainline BoA series.

The Little Big Horn battle was in Montana - not Wyoming. Been there twice, once in 1968 as a young teenager and again, in 2015. Bought this game based upon your prototype review years ago. Thanks - looks like it will be fun !!

O just think, they should have put in the manual an option for 3 or 4 player like the birth of america series, where its a full team game. Didnt really like the semi-coop rules for 3 and 4 player the game came with.

Thematically, I don't understand the wagon trains being more powerful than the Calvary army. Historically, a lot of wagon trains failed and even the ones to succeed were unlikely to be 100,% whole.

The results of the war may be inevitable, but if the game is well designed all sides should be winnable.

I played this at 2 players a few months back. I don't think 3 or 4 players would be nearly as engaging. There didn't seem to be enough for the settlers and Indians to keep it interesting for more than one playthrough with more than 2. One player having a bad dice rolling night can make the game get out of hand quickly in the 2 player game. I know that can be true of a lot of games, but in this game it seems even more pronounced.

I agree, I played this two players and feel it plays with that player count the best.

Grant it should be "AmeriTHRASH", as "Ameritrash" sounds too much like snooty euro-gamers looking down on American style games and as an American we should never call our game's "trash".

I would say that every game has something interesting about it even it overall it wasn't a great game. We also don't shoot reviews of games we didn't like.
