Gas dryers work great, and dry really fast! Gas dryers are popular in the North American market, and are common in areas where electricity is expensive. My Maytag DG810 can dry a load of towels in an hour, and sometimes less than a hour.

Nice dryer! The combustion gases are exhausted outside through the vent. This happens because the air flows through the burner and into the dryer and through the clothes, then outside. Combustion gases are not released into the room. In any case, carbon monoxide isn't produced by gas appliances unless they are faulty or starved of oxygen. The requirement for a window or ventilation is to allow make-up air back into the room as the dryer expels air outside.

it's weird seeing a gas dryer you never see them around

After 24 years my white knight finally gave up, not always igniting, so cheap to run and almost no creases as compared to electric dryers, this is my replacement choice, if it lasts another 24 years it might outlast me.

HAS anyone come across a problem with installation. I have been informed that the installer needs a certificate lau 1. According to white night web site it says gas safe installer.

he has not done any of these programs

I have one of these. The drum cracked around the mounting points at the back. Unreparable, guess I will have to fork out £340 for a new one. Not happy. Cheap to run, but poor duty cycle / build quality.

mine won't warm up/dry properly ? any ideas...?

I have not found anyone in the Teesside area who fix or commision these dryers !!! Be warned check your area before buying!!!

It could be a number of things. 1. The timer (timers usually don’t fail as often on gas dryers but can happen though) 2. The thermostats 3. Gas valve coils 4. The spark igniter 5. Extremely rare to happen, but a wire could have worked itself loose from some where in the heating circuit hence no heat 6. Restricted venting. Restricted venting will usually cause the high limit safety thermostat near the burner to kick the burner off once it exceeds a certain temperature due to restricted air flow.

Gas dryers are not much of a thing over in the UK. Mainly an American thing.
