Thanks for the overview Tom. It looks like they've made significant improvements over last year's model. The PID controller is a big one. Will you keep the standard controller?

One thing I noticed. Maybe just cause it's a video but the little dot on the knob that shows where the temp setting is doesn't show up very good. Maybe a sharpie fill in on the knob dot? Also, is this clean up same as the Traeger? Needing a vacuum to get all the ash out? Thanks Tom.

Thanks Mike! Good point on the dot, it is hard to see. Yes this Pellet grill needs to be cleaned out of ash, a vacuum works the best.

The controller upgrade is nice, but did they put in a hopper cleanout door? Cook some canned biscuits on the grill to find out where the high heat zones are. That way you'll know where to center your cooks.

What increments can you set the cook temperature? I've seen some controllers that have 5 degree increments but this looks like it was a lot wider even though the readout is in 5 degree changes.

I would suggest setting up a reliable and independent temp probe to see if what the PID controller says is ACTUALLY the temperature. My pellet pro 1190 does maintain a constant temperature, but it's usually 20 degrees higher. So maintaining a “steady 225” is ACTUALLY a constant 245-255

Thanks for the clarity Jack. Got to remember where the RTD probe sits it is higher than the grill grate so I would expect different temps. In my experience it always been lower not higher. Have you tried calling Dennis at Smoke Daddy? He will do whatever it takes to make it right by you. Thanks again for Watching! Feel free to contact me anytime, I too want it to be right for you. @@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I set up the other “independent” probes within inches of the pellet pro’s probe. I will try to call them again. I just became used to adjust for the “difference” but shouldn't have to

On my RecTeq Bullseye, "Riot Mode" is 749 degrees. Fifteen minutes is like completing a "Self-Clean" on your oven in the kitchen. Talk about grill marks on a steak !!

@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ I did Tom, pretty much all I got was “well that's the way it is “ let's say I set the controller for 220. I set up my Smoke and Maverick which are dead on accurate, and the PID controller says 220-225. The others read 240-250... So I end up making the pit pro go to 190-200
