This was my first knife found it in the woods with a little bit of rust. It was in really good condition the only thing that it needed was to be sharpened but after that it was good to go

Saw this knife and knew I had to have it but found out it was discontinued. Luckily I had a pal with one and sold it to me for $50. Anyway, great content man. Easy voice to listen to knowledgeable and to the point. Keep it up.

A beautiful pair of Buck's. I was not familiar with the 27 but i sure like the look of them & the detail on the pivot screw & back spacer are very nice, I enjoy the feel of a hefty knife with a nice contored handle they just feel solid & secure in the hand. Thanks for showing these two beauties.👍

They are fantastic, and this year Buck came out with the fixed blade in 420HC (more affordable). I always wanted the matching fixed blade Alpha Hunter. Thanks for watching, my friend.

Tom You had me at the first click open Wow what an action I am surprised that so many really good knives Buck produced didn’t sell better I guess maybe they just are too hefty and not as sleek and sexy Or perhaps it’s just the lack of so called super steel Anyway I would love to have one and will be looking for one Thanks for sharing yours

Hey I have two of this knife as well, bought back in 2009. Except both are the rosewood handled version. Had the first engraved/embossed in the wooden scale with my initials... the seller did a nice job with that, I think it might've been White Mountain... which I then used as my daily beater work knife. Thought the knife design was so beautiful that I bought a second one to keep nice and crisp. Definitely a knife that makes an impression in the hand.

I think this is an overlooked knife. I did the same as you. I bought the 2002 (year of Buck's 100th anniversary), but I didn't want to use it. I bought the second one to carry and to use. Thanks for watching Dave. (Oh, and I have been looking for some Rosewood handles.)

420hc is poorly suited to "hard use", I snapped the blade on my 279bk and tossed it. There's a reason it's discontinued- it's a weak, liner lock that weighs half a pound with a lame steel... It wasn't cheap when they were around either. It simply couldn't compete. That said, Bucks were my first woods knives so thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Thanks for the feedback Fred. I believe 420HC is adequate for a hunting knife. Everyone has a different definition of "hard use." With Buck's forever warranty, did you consider sending it in? Thanks for watching!

They look very solid Buck doesn't get the high praise like benchmade spyderco etc. I still consider Buck top quality.
