Very Nice job reviewing, Thanks . . it was just the info I needed !!!
Good review and inspection. Nice work.
Thanks for the review. I only need something to work below 100kHz so this should work great!

+BradK Yes. It works great at those frequencies.

+NatureAndTech awesome review, thanks, was unsure if this wasn't complete crap but for what i need and for the price it will be more than enough.
Hey First question is about the model number MHS-5400A. I could't find it on eBay, closet thing that I found was MHS-3200A. Different model number of the same or different product? Also have you compared between the FeelTech similar model? I am in the crossroad which to buy.
Thanks for a good video. I got the impression you can use the PC software and interface to override and avoid the cumbersome buttons, like the shift key pain in the behind. Is that true? My oscilloscope is a USB scope already attached to a PC so using the PC cable is not as inconvenient as it would otherwise be. THANKS.

I get your point about remote controlling it from the PC, but to be honest, I have never tried it. Maybe you can find the manual online?

NatureAndTech Thank you have a nice day.
Does the frequency counter work correctly?
A similar unit is made by Feeltech. It's square wave is much better with no ringing at all, sadly however it has mains leakage ON THE output sockets!!

I have modified mine to reduce the ringing, but it's still not that good. However, I mostly just use it for the sine-wave output, so not a big deal for me.
Hi there. I am trying to get a modulated signal and following the instructions in the manual does not work. Do you have any procedure that you could share regarding modulation with this unit. Thanks

I haven't used this instrument for a while. Let me see what I can figure out.
Hi, are you Satisfied with this model? I need a waveform signal generator for my hobby..

+SeAfasia For a hobbyist generator, I would say it is pretty good for the price. Compared to my previous signal generator (an analog one with a max frequency of 1 MHz), it is definitely better, with a more stable output. Also, it is able to output two signals at the same time. For hobby, you may not need that, but that is why I bought mine. It does, have some problems, which is why you should really watch the video and decide for yourself.... There are two issues that I would love them to fix. 1) There is a lot of jitter on square wave signals above 700kHz. 2) Only the sine-wave output is usable above ca. 1 MHz. All other wave-forms are not. If you mainly need to generate frequencies below approximately 1MHz, I can recommend it, but above that, maybe not so much.
When using the sweep function does it sweep both channels at the same time?

+BradK Thanks for your question Brad. It's either or. One channel is sweeping while the other is outputting a fixed frequency.

+NatureAndTech Cool thanks, that's what I was hoping for. I bought this one and the feeltech one on ebay.
this generatore provider unmodulated output I think...

That is correct. The generator does not have a modulation input.

sin, if it was modulated would be perfect to test the stages of the receivers. Maybe can possible add a DIY modulated output, but it does not make sense as well in a brand new instrument...ok thanks.

That would be really neat, but unfortunately not :(
