I see countless videos of people feeding stuff into these, never see them unblocking the things! It's heavily dependent on what you are feeding in, of course but after buggering about with a few different chippers that would fit in my shed, I now cut off the thin branches running a sabre saw down the length of each bit, then I chop the logs to short lengths with a circular saw, finally I shred the leafy bits with my mower by running over them a few times. I think it's a waste of time buying the small machines like this, you need a larger one like the hire places have or don't bother.
