    I apologize to anyone this might affect but I had someone posting profanity on a thread on this video. I subsequently deleted that thread and blocked the user. He then found friends KZread accounts and started stating the most vulgar things about me, my music and my ministry. For those who's thread he responded to, I am sorry I deleted your comments. Thank you all for your suppport. My only goal with these videos is to educate and let people know about some great instruments that won't break the bank.

    Hi, Glenn! I own a 2010 Dot (also in cherry), and occasionally I like to scroll around YT for all things Dot, just to hear what other players are doing so I can maybe grab some inspiration. Well, you’ve just provided me me with tons of it! Thank you, you are a truly awesome player. (Btw, over the years the wood grain has really bled through the finish on mine. I’ve named her Brunhilde, because now she’s just dripping with attitude!) 🤣

    I loved your review of the 339 Glenn and have just bought one over here in the UK. It really is a superb guitar and the single coil tones are really high quality giving you two guitars in one. I took it to a gig last Saturday and used it for every song. I compared it with the Gibson and actually preferred the Epiphone. It's good to get reviews like this from a pro many thanks.

    I enjoyed your video AND your playing. I just picked up a used dot. As a Les Paul Custom player it felt great in my hands so I just had to have it. I have not yet had the time to fully investigate the g string intonation problem yet but I am assuming it may be the nut since I have run out of adjustment on the saddle. Of its not the nut, ill have to flip the saddle for a we bit more. Of all the setup videos Ive watched, yours is the only one that mentioned using pencil graphite to lube the nut. Ive been using this method for 30 plus years and have never had any tuning issues. Im surprised no one else mentions it. Thanks for posting your video!

    I see you have trouble with the small size of Les Pauls...me too. But when I tell people that, they look at me like I'm crazy. But on the other hand many say 335's are just to big, but they fit me like a glove...perfect balance and no back pain. Thanks, great review...thinking about getting one for sure.

    Its weird i like the way the Sheraton looks but like the way the Dot sounds. Plus im not crazy about the push-pull pots on the Sheraton. Ill be buying a Dot come December ! Epiphone stepped up their quality as far as hardware goes too. Better pots, switches and jacks than 10 years ago.

    Thanks Man! Since this video I have done some serious modifications to it. Got some Lace Alumitones and had them installed. While he was working on it he installed 250K pots, new 3 way and a heavy duty input jack. I also swapped out the machine heads and installed a TUSQ nut. With just a little over $350 in mods I have a guitar that totally ROCKS.

    Super nice tone and some tasty chops...! I'm looking at replacing my 1973 335 with either one of those guitars or possibly a Gretsch 2622. Hard to get a decent idea of what those sound like, or play like, as where I live ( northern Thailand ) not a big call for Gretsch.. So, leaning towards the Epi... Like the idea of the thinner neck... Thanks for putting up the vid!

    Man you are a great guitarist... I really like your style of playing! I have a question, what do you prefer... The Sheraton or the Dot?

  • @reverendglenn

    @reverendglenn

    10 жыл бұрын

    Thanks Dylan! The Sheraton is a bit more tricked out with the inlays on the fretboard and the "tree of life" vine inlay on the headstock. I also found the attention to detail on the Sheratons in regard to finish a bit better. This Cherry Dot I am playing was a factory second with some blemishes I got at Sam Ash for $310. The Sheraton neck feels a tad heavier which (to me at least) makes the whole guitar seem a bit off-balance. Sound wise, I would say they are very similar. Hope this helps?

    thnx for the reply sir , well i think I heard that the eiphone dot users are having a problem with the guitar in staying in tune , and intonation problems too besides the ES339 offers the option to split coils like you demonstrated it in your video ( and thanks for that i didn't know about it ) so i think i might buy the ES339 although i like the dot body and it's an iconic guitar i m really confused now haha

    Great review. I tried a 339 pro and Dot at guitar center. I found the 339 pro had a slightly slimmer neck, but you stated that the Dot had a slimmer neck. I have very small hands but would like to get a 335. Do you know if the 335 pro limited edition has a smaller neck? It is listed on the Epiphone site as having a 60's slim taper neck. I'm a small guy but would like the deeper tone of the 335.

  • @reverendglenn

    @reverendglenn

    Chris, they probably all vary slightly. I have a Korean made dot that has a different neck than my red Chinese one. I do know that my 339 pro has a much chunkier neck than either of them. The best thing to do is test a bunch out at GC or Sam Ash and see which one is the best fit. Even though they are built to spec, they do vary.

    Hi Glenn,, i was wondering how you would compare the korean dot,,to the china made...i recently got a deluxe dot,2001 korean,,got for 200 cause the neck had a extremely thin crack where they put the neck n body together,,also guitar was set horribly,,who ever owned it had 9's on top strings and 10's on bottom..and strings inch off the board..crack was probably due to humiduty..so i put super glue over where the crack is,,which was on back and went to one side of the neck..did that so it wouldnt get worse i hope thats ok to do..,,anyway i re set the whole guitar and it play very nice..and it also says "limited edition" on the back of the head,,and serial number starts with "I" which means made at Seign factory in korea.."S" means Samick factory..i dont knmow which ones are better..i hope its the latter
