Well, we have yet another pair of Strands in common. Haven't worn mine at this point as it is more boot season for me. Couldn't make the truck show due to the surge but have been planning to visit that shop for some time now. The Strands look spectacular. As always wear them in good health.

I bought a pair of Landon boots in the natural shell at the trunk show this year. I love the color - it has some almost pink hues, and takes amazingly different colors from the different lights (incandescent, fluorescent, direct sunlight, indirect sunlight) and even at different angles. They've been a real joy to wear. Enjoy!

I like Amiral Gloss! It is a bit harder and shines well. I scuffed a shoe at work last week and used a drop of water and my cotton bandana to touch it up perfectly. Less than a minute.

The strand in natural is Great but not much different from the walnut in color especially if you are wearing them n looking at them from a distance Big difference between shell price n calf price Keep up the good work

I have the Carmina 531 in Armagnac, a PTB, the perfect everyday shoe. And a AE Randolph in “burgundy” shell (#8?), and an Alden boot in #8. Absolutely love shell, although it’s not for everyone. I want to add a Carmina in natural, or bourbon, or both. And a Grant Stone. And an AE Landon in Chili shell. The wants never end! Oh, I’ve heard that AE has an anniversary limited edition MacNeil coming this year - I will get a pair on a lighter shell for sure if that’s the case.

"I haven't had a chance to wear them yet." Lol‼️ I'd wear them grocery shopping or walking the dog‼️🤣

Preaching to the converted here, but it’s a real shame the general public, is not aware of the fact that, while expensive, a pair of shoes like this would probably last you the rest of your life. They would also get better with age. I understand though that many guys would say, “these shoes would look out of place in the circles I travel in”. Beautiful shoes!

I even tried on my military issued brogues and I love the result...But I have one question to ask you, when in blazing hot weather and very sunny day in Malaysia, my black shoe shine will become dull if exposed about 1 hour under the sun. Some of my colleagues said its because of the new shoes and new layer of wax. What can I do to improve the shine durability? Thanks in advance!

Thanks! Trunk shoes happen once a year around October-November for Allen Edmonds. For Alden, there needs to be an actual physical brick and mortar store so the only ones that I know of is in San Diego here at Gentlemens footwear. They aren’t regular so they’re announced as they happen.

They're packet like a set of jewelries when in fact you're supposed to walk in them outside in the dust :P

Do you ever dye pebbled leather shoes, such as boat shoes? Does Saphir have a dye especially designed for that type of leather?

I’m sure AE steps up the quality control when they’re crafting their cordovan shoes. You probably won’t find the stitching going into the brogue holes on those Strands.

Hey Jesus! Yes the absolutely do. Carmina actually makes the best shell shoes in the regular ready to wear brands.
