We bought a Mahindra jeep in 1989 it's still running. And Mahindra pick-up and Jeep is used heavily here due to bad terrain. In some places with the rough road that is the only capable pickup that can transport goods. Pre 2010 Only Mahindra vehicles were able to reach my home due to bad road conditions.

It took India some time to warm up to Mahindra SUV as well. They persisted and now is one of the beloved car makers

I drive this car in India..2017 W10 model and its a fantastic car. Low on maintenance cost and very good value for money. Has good space on offer. Got all the features required as well.

In my opinion it is one of the most well built , simple and safe SUV , simply an excellent product for daily use and cross country travel

Indian Cars are Mahindra and Tata and they are far ahead in terms of quality than their foreign counterparts in India

People have gone so luxurious minded, that auto tail door has become a must. Logically speaking, its a useless thing. Simply not needed.

Mahindra is worlds largest tractor brand and they make farm equipments, utility vehicles, medium and heavy commercial vehicles like trucks and even airplanes and much more. That means you want a car like everest or more in low price. Mahindra gives more in its price

Mahindra has got much bigger market to serve locally, no need to look beyond. But yes, if Mahindra really like to make impression than lots of things to be done on interiors and marketing. U can’t put same car overseas what u sell in India. Indian version can fit well in South Asia and African market who actually prefers more in economical price range .

This is defeatist thinking. Indian brands are right to try and compete in the global market. Brand India and Indian brands need to have a symbiotic relationship on the worlds stage. As India's international prestige grows, the prestige attached to Indian conglomerates also grows and vice versa. So there is a very real need to look beyond just the domestic Indian market.

Xuv 500 is actually getting outdated in India too so by the end of 2021 mahindra is changing whole look. But these cars are super relaible n cheap to repair.

Why would you do a review on Mahindra XUV500 when it’s almost at the end of its life cycle? Mahindra certainly don’t have a good history of making reliable vehicles but being cheap and capable of offering practicality, it’s one of the top choice of an average Indian customers. Still, people who really care for what they are offered in terms of reliability, they never get a Mahindra. And with competition heating up in compact SUV segment, XUV500 have its work cut out to still reserve its place in this space.

I am from india I own new xuv (the facelift one). I did every possible trip with my xuv, drove in every possible terrain, drove in snow, drove in literally bad roads, I did trip to bhutan. My current odometer rating of XUV is 110000 KMs. Still working very well and because of this I bought mahindra alturas which is competitor of fortuner and endeavour (also known as Everest) and believe me when search for mahindra alturas and you will start loving it.

Nope... This vehicle is rightly priced and the engine is quite good. Certainly more reliable than Fords and Rovers. Mahindra doesn't let you down whether it's the Thar desert or the bitter cold Ladakh.

This car is a tin can. One word to describe it is shit.
