Internet: "Yeah, let's see you do better." James: "Hold my La Kwah."
James: *sniff* "Oh? What?" Me: "This is going to be good."
The croissant pronunciation explanation is amazing 😂

Water?
It tastes like sipping water from washing your recyclable Coke cans while someone is burning coffee in the next room
I really like the drink reviews, they have a more laid back and personal vibe. It's a nice change of pace from the serious researched videos you usually make (which I also enjoy). Keep 'em coming!
This was actually one of his more positive reviews
LaCroix’s name is a fancy version of La Crosse, Wisconsin where the HQ is. “The [city’s] name originated from the game with sticks that resembled a bishop's crozier or la crosse in French, which was played by Native Americans there.”

The "La" comes from La Crosse, Wisconsin, where the original brewery that created LaCroix exists. "Croix" is for the St. Croix river; which in the states, we pronounce "croy". Also, the FAQ on LaCroix's website says it's pronounced "La-CROY. It rhymes with ‘enjoy’".

In fact LaCroix is a french last name wich date back to the 18th century and before the 18th century it was written LaCreu.
Seeing this, I am filled with a horror, but James is filled with this drink, and that's even worse.
Can you do a review of budget manual espresso machines? Like the ones from Gaggia, DeLonghi and Gastroback? If you do, can you check if the steaming wands are removable/changeable?
@krimke881

If you are looking for a espresso machine. Take my advice and get a old, used gaggia classic. You can't go wrong 😉🤩. They are miles better than the new ones(Gaggias), and half the price. Pair it with a gaggia mdf grinder, or a different of your preference, and you got yourself a smashing kit. If you find you don't like doing your espresso yourself anymore, you can sell it for the same as you purchased ot for, and if you experience joy and want to move on to spending "top dollar", you have lost nothing 😉🤙 .. and yes, the "steam wand" are fully replaceable and upgradeable in any form/sense/way.

nibal jabban the best cheap coffee machine at the moment is Delonghi ecp 31.21 series These are fully manual machines , cheap plastic but have stainless still boiler, various baskets and can be easily moded with non pressurised baskets, with fresh beans you can pretty good results. No need gaggia classic to start, latest one is the best of all but at £400 price tag just get the one above and try to see if espresso is your thing

"Oof" - James Hoffman, 2019.
James: never stop doing these. Nothing is better than seeing you review something you despise.
Me: *Sees thumbnail for James' video regarding any coffee drink that isn't coffee* Me: *Knows it'll be a funny reaction*
*Sniff* Oh. *Sniff* What? *Taste* Oof, ugh.
I love absolutely every last thing about this. All of your content is really REALLY enjoyable and this series is pure unadulterated bubblegum pop fun. As always, looking forward to the next installment and hopefully a few more of these product reviews sprinkled in for the laughs.
"it's not a good sensory experience" - James Hoffmann should be on the can
Favorite moment 2:55 - “ooff...., uhh”, 2:59 - the facial expression and gesture. You are “so” funny. I’m still cracking up. Thanks for this James - you are such an original. Cheers!
I see a James Hoffman video, I click thumbs up, it's a simple transaction.
Nooo, don't stop that kind of review! I want more, they're hilarious.
Watched and enjoyed the whole video before realizing how early I was! Always jump to watch your videos as soon as they pop in my feed

sounds like a wonderful idea in theory...
The website explains in their FAQ that it's supposed to rhyme with "enjoy". So that's how they like it pronounced whether or not it's correct lol. Great video! Always a good laugh from these.
I think the reason why they all taste bad is because the good stuff in coffee is a mixture of molecules that break down (or oxydize) very fast, like within a day. The same happens with instant coffe, the remaining flavors are those more stable molecules or those already oxydized ones.
Love your honest reviews ♥
Keep doing these! They're fun and I don't think once a moth or every few weeks would be unreasonable.
Good work as always, James
Music choice was spot on for this one 😂
This is the best video series on KZread.
Impeccable timing, good sir. I had contemplated purchasing this, and still may do so if for nothing more than just to see how off it tastes.
"Nice hiss..." -Steve1989
OMG I love how he goes in with an open mind on all of these, hoping for good results and then gets disappointed in such a dramatic fashion. These horrible coffee flavored drink, bandwagon products almost always terrible. watching this guy suffer, I find entertaining. The suffering and the description of the suffering is priceless. great video.
What many of us want to learn, if possible, is how to taste beverages the way you do. We want to be able to pull out the components and timing. WRT the drink, a bad taste is a bad taste no matter how you pronounce the name of the drink! Very interesting review.

Agree! I'm struggled to distinguish any flavor other than "bitter, acidic, less acidic, more acidic, yucky acidic, or sour" - before I know it, the glass is already empty. I haven't chewed any tobacco, flower petals, earth, or tar (I hope not) so my vocabulary on taste notes are limited. What kind of training should I do tasting like that?
Love you absolute honesty in this review, Awesome! -Mark / EspressoTech Service Co.
I love this series!
I absolutely love the part about the name pronunciation and the fact you spent quarter of this review on that
You guys are all crazy! I’m drinking an ice cold one right now. I don’t know why, but I legitimately love this.
I laugh so hard at "I don't even know what i'm smelling there". Thank you, James!
5:50 eye roll, really got me.
It sounds hackneyed, I know, but I would actually pay to hear James read the London phonebook.
La Croix is epitome of screaming a flavor’s name into a pillow from another room.
This is my all-time favorite La Croix 🤣
these videos are the best thing on the internet! (need to see the awful beverages in a glass though.)
I love these videos.

Honestly I love these.
You should totally pour it into a clear glass. Love to see what it looks like!
In Michigan, I have heard La Crix
Sorry. These reviews are great. I love your use of full vocabulary depiction for this awful experiences. It almost ventures into the realm of pure sensorial surrealism. More, please.
I find every La Croix to be offensive tbh. It's like homeopathic soda.
Thank you James, For saving me the Time from going out to get it and from spending money to purchase La Croix coffee drink. When I saw Sumantra Coffee, I thought that it has to be good.Another great review.
Thanks for the good laugh in the morning 😂🤣 You completely lived up to my expectations by bringing another sacrifice to bad taste 😁

I loved this
The weird coffee videos are good fun, but I think it's about time that you put together your own coffee-cola-something hybrid and show people how it's done. At this point you've sampled enough of these that you should know all the pitfalls. I believe in you James!

Aah, the coffee drinks are back to being terrible. Wonderful. More content like this is needed
I think James would have been an excellent teammate in a zombie apocalypse. He would be the voice of reason, stopping you from doing stupid stuff and in return keeping you alive.
I pronounce the 'cr' like the sound I make when I think of drinking la croix (sort of like choking and hacking at the same time) then the 'oix' like the 'ah' in how they expect me to sound.
I love this videos
Okay it's time. I challenge you to make your own clear, amazing tasting, coffee beverage. Please do, will buy it :p
Please try out Starbucks doubleshot espresso in a can!
Nearby Auchan (big supermarket chain) had a sale on various coffees from smaller coffee roasting companies, some local some not. I bought some to try and thought "I wonder what weird coffee science or other video James will do next" I get home, and there is new video! Coincidence? :D
Took another one for the team. What a dude!
i like the coconut flavor. Reminds me of tanning lotion 🧴
You should make a video about Mokka some day. It always seems to be about Espresso or filter coffee in your channel. I'd really like to see some experiments and experiences with powder fine grinding, fresh vs. dried Kardamom, controlling heat in sand bath vs. gas flame vs. an automated mokka machine (Arzum or Fakir make some widely used models), experiments on how to get better foam, about temperatures and timing,... It's a whole untapped world out there. The world where our coffee comes from.
I love this drink so much though 😂
I've been drinking La Croix for around 15 years, and I've never seen that coffee cola variation. Weird.
I feel like is la croy, its made in Wisconsin.
Just want to add, it was originally from la Crosse WI. So the pronunciation scales from smaller town named after a French noun. Just a note.
I feel I have watched a *lot* of these videos of James saying he's not going to make a lot of these videos. Mind you - I enjoy them.
wait wait wait. A coffee - cola beverage, made to represent cuban culture, with Sumatran coffee as a base.... wat?
hey, is that the ocean rich coffee brewer? lowest shelf 2nd from left, can u do a review for that ?
The depiction of your culture is disappointment, self-satisfaction in that disappointment, and finally shame in being satisfied in your own disappointment.
Damn, that music slaaaaps!
Hey James, Big fan! I have an interesting one for you which may or may not be on your radar, but it's definitely is not on most people's. I discovered it during some deep diving as a barista in Melbourne Australia... It's the Espresso Tonic. It's comprised of freshly extracted espresso, tonic water, and ice... dare I say add an extra twist with a squeeze of lime juice to really bring out the flavor. I know what you're thinking... that sounds gross, but just think about how coffee is a fruit and combining the ingredients in this way can plays into that and brings out these flavors unlike ones you can taste anywhere else in coffee. Regardless of if you make a video on it, please just give it a go. I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised... or shocked haha! P.S. Beware combining ingredients too fast, it can sometimes be like a chemistry experiment, especially with acidic coffee. Ice, tonic water, coffee (pour slow), and optional lime squeeze; then a very careful stir to finish (don't fill too close to the top before you add espresso). Make sure you sip it just after stirring to get the best experience of texture and flavor! Regards, Astin.
Another great, informative and honest review. Thank you again for torturing yourself on our behalf. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Had some good laughs.

La Croix is named after a river in Illinois I believe. Though it has a French name, it has not been pronounced in the French manner for a very long time. The company has stated that it is pronounced "croy" - Though I call it Kwah.
Teledyne LeCroy: guy: so, Tele-dine LeCroix, what brings you here
In your opinion what would make a good coffee beverage that would be similar to this?
Just noticed the Mr Black on your shelf! What are your thoughts on it?
I tried many caffeinated drinks, many of which claim to have some coffee taste and yeah, you just described em all at once. No acid, sweetness or joy.
Can you do a video about a budget entry level espresso setup?
I’m not even gonna lie, I watched your video about Coke with coffee and still bought one…. And kind of enjoyed it.
Great review as always, but just had to say -- yuk, to the coffee cola. I like coffee. I like cola. They never needed to be introduced to one another! Cheers! 👍
Maybe a video explaining some things you can do with cascara?
James needs to do one on the Wonda conic ( Coffee x tonic ) !
I never knew la croix made a coffee flavor
