Great review and honest opinion . I love this version of the watch bb58. I sold mine but I am looking to buy it back . It’s a keeper and a great daily wear . It would be easier to for you to keep this watch if you had a sub or some other member of the family with the features that are missing from bb58 .

With the BB clasp you can lift the other end (the pointed end of the 'shield'). Works a treat

Nice review. As you said in the review, it really wasn’t for you and you probably shouldn’t have purchased it in the first place. Is it a good watch? Absolutely, it’s great. I’ve heard a few people mention the clasp. All you have to do is pull up the lock and grab it from the sides so it really isn’t a problem. I have both the black and the blue so I’m a little biased, “for me” it’s a great daily wear. I’ll be looking out for more of your reviews. Keep up the good work!

I very recently bought the Black Bay 58 Navy Blue to compliment a range of predominantly black-dialled watches in my collection that include the classic Rolex Submariner Date 16610 that I've cherished for 19 yrs. The Tudor is a super, very well-made luxury timepiece and I appreciate its rather understated blue dial and aluminium bezel compared to the 'bling-blue' ceramic of my Omega Seamaster 300. Like-for-like think of the Blue 58 as a more modern take on its original black and gilt sibling. The blue really pops in daylight or in well-lit rooms and a pleasure to wear. Although not quite up there with the Rolex in the absolute quality stakes - but why should it when barely 35% of a Sub's retail price - go to an AD and try one on. An in-house COSC certified movement, 70 hrs power reserve.... you won't be disappointed.

I too had one and I too sold it after one year. I liked it a lot but found that it wasn't my first choice in the morning, which is a great way of finding out which watch you really like. I also have the original black version which I do grab in the morning. But I also bought the new 925 silver version when it came out 6 or 8 weeks ago. This watch I really love. It has something special about it, the X factor. I also quite like the look of the new BB58 bronze but I don't like the idea of bronze itself. I hope they now introduce the new T clasp bracelet on the stainless steel models and that it is available as an aftermarket option, as I will definitely buy one for my black BB58 which currently sits on a StrapCode steel bracelet.

Hi. I hear strapcode bracelet damages the inside lugs. It that true? I would like to pull the trigger on one but if it does that than I will pass and look for oem. How do you find it quality wise? I also have black dial version ( leather).

You could remove the clasp with just two fingers holding on each side of the clasp instead of prying it with your nail. That’s how I’m removed all my Tudor clasps and also my Rolex clasps. Was never comfortable prying things with your nail.

You can also push open the clasp from the underside. Put your finger between your wrist and the clasp and push the tip of your finger upwards in the opening under the clasp. Easiest way, no scratches on the clasp and no broken nails. ☺️👍🏻

I can only say from all the watches I handled it was the hardest clasp to open. Maybe there is an easier way, but this ledge is obviously designed to pull the clasp open. So if that doesn't work good and you have to find a workaround, it's a negative for me.

@@leonardoswatchlist4040 You can try sticking to springhook design like modern Rolex or push button style clasps. I always pull the clasp open from the sides for clasps such as the BB58 and it is the easiest to operate out of most luxury brands.
