This thermostat has a setting for heat and cool as one mode. That’s in your ISU under “system changeover” yours is likely set to “manual” and for that feature you’ll need to enable it to “automatic” after that you’ll have a 4th setting named Auto that does both Heat and cool.

The auto mode you wanted can be enabled as an option in the advanced menu. A piece of tape would solve your camera red light issue.

I just installed the t6 2 day. Ithaca actual install was straight up. However, I spent over an hour trying to find the battery back up compartment. Tge Honeywell video even stated that batteries were not required but suggested. After exhausted search of videos this model has an internal battery that gets recharged by the power from the c wire. Also, the app to download is now resideo. Works great now. Just a heads up.

The schedule on this thermostat sucks super confusing.. im a truck driver and hardly home i dont want my ac or heat coming on when im gone i just want too have it come on a few hours before i get home from work too save on energy.. there is a ventilation mode on some of these and a boost feature where it will blow air harder and faster and cool the room and house down way faster a lot of people dont know about this feature i figured it out but its only available on my main floor.. my basement thermostat same one and brand doesn't have that feature idk why but i definitely need the boost mode on the basement level it would help cool it faster it get humid down there in the summer..

Good luck on setting this thing up. My first T6 Pro wouldn't connect to my network. I was able to call and talk to a man at Honeywell. Stepped me through the process OK. After several years this thermostat went out so I purchased another T6. The instructions told me to put my phone in airplane mode and go and log into the thermostat. I was in airplane mode which meant I could not get WIFI or blue tooth. I called Honeywell support line and the wait was 2 1/2 hours. I had my HVAC company come out and try to set it up. They did not have any luck getting this thing to work either. Right now I am using it manually. Buyer beware of getting this thing to work.

On Android, you set Airplane Mode, but then enable Wi-Fi and then connect to the thermostat Wi-Fi. I did this today. Not sure on iphone, but you're basically dropping any Wi-Fi you're connected to so you can connect to the T6, shouldn't really need to set to Flight/Airplane mode to do this.

You could try pressing Menu, arrow right twice, Select on WIFI, Select again on SETUP WIFI. Mine is already setup, so I'm not sure of the options you see after to manually configure it. I'm a Network and technical engineer, I've worked with Honeywell support before. I might be able to assist if you on this. Others noted ZWAVE WIFI, etc. You need to have 2.4Ghz Wi-Fi for this device.

Thanks for sharing. I wanted to see a demo of a Honeywell thermostat, and now that I've seen one, I'm not very impressed. The graphics on the unit and the app look like they're from the 80s, really unimpressive. They could have done a better job than that. Do like the circulate function, but as you said, the lack of a heat/cool setting is a disadvantage. Surprising Honeywell didn't include that.

It might show the model under a menu option as well.

Test setting the tempertature lower in Cool mode. You can change Maximum as well, etc. Careful not to change others settings under that Advanced Menu when doing this change! If you do make any other change, note what the current setting was first, and also the setting number at the top (such as 430) that way you can set it back later if the changes don't do what you want.

We had this thermostat installed last night. I need to know exactly how to cancel "Hold Until" off. And operate it manually. I had to keep getting up during the night to override the temperature setting to keep it from dropping below 70 degrees. The HVAC tech who installed it told us the only two things we needed to know was how to operate the mode and temperature settings. In that case, we did not need such a sophisticated (And expensive!) thermostat such as this, but our heat pump had stopped working due to failure of our old thermostat and it was the only one he had on his truck on a Sunday night. It was either get this or do without heat for another night. Ugh!

Our builder installed a Honeywell T6 Pro non-wifi, we tried to replace it with a regular nest and the fan speed of the blower was significantly reduced for some reason. So we put the T6 back up and the fan speed returned to normal. My question is, will this T6 wifi work exactly the same without reducing the blower fan speed like the nest did? That can't really happen with proper wiring, these are low voltage thermostats, they control higher current relays and such to power the fan and other. Some thermostats have options, such as this model to set the number of cycles/hour. Also some systems have single-stage, some two-stage (a lower and higher speed) sounds like it was possibly miswired or not compatible with the Nest.

  • @farmalla9588

That's most likely a wiring issue.. Make sure green wire is connected to the G terminal on the thermostat.. The green wire being energized is what tell fan to ramp up when AC/heat is running or when fan option is set to On.. That's the first thing to check..

It depends where you live and what season. You can manually set back and fouth heat or cool and set the temp, but you can maybe set a schedule that cools during the hottest part or the day, but also heats *(if really needed) at night. Try that out. Also, if you have the App, you can set to heat, cool and any temp even if you're away from your home anytime.

Very important note: NOT ALL T6 Pro Wifi thermostats utilize the same security communication protocol. You must match the right T6 thermostat to your Wifi Network/software you are gonna be using. Example, the T6 "Z-Wave" security communication protocol must run on a Z-Wave capable network and be 2.5GHz; Ring Security Devices running eero routers work with Z-Wave protocol (To access Z-Wave wifi/setup press and hold menu on the T6). RESIDIO is the Honeywell app and it DOES NOT connect to Z-Wave protocol (It uses "LYRIC" (or something like that) or other wifi security communication protocol; LYRIC protocol T6 t-stats, Residio app tells you to Press and hold the room temperature number in the middle of the T-stat screen to access LYRIC WIFI setup). This explains why a lot of people CANT CONNECT the app to the thermostat...Google home does connect to my Z-Wave T6 pro thermostat but not to RESIDIO app. Also ADT security does connect to Z-Wave devices. To find out which protocol thermostat you have, lift the T6 from it's base on the wall and look on its back for the com's protocol it is capable. I believe the model numbers also differ somehow amongst T6 pro WIFI T-stats according to the protocol they use. My T6 pro is Z-Wave, has 3xAA batteries on it's back and it says Z-Wave next to the QR code/wifi logo on its back. It does not connect to the RESIDIO app on appstore as of today... Google home does connect to my Z-Wave T6 pro wifi t-stat in my network(But it's limited in wifi functions...). Good luck to every one, cause I am still trying to figure this crap out.

I own the ProSeries T6, however, there's mulitple type of T6's, different models for various systems. Mine doesn't use batteries, some of them do. Mine- I just adjusted it in cool mode from 90F down to 50F *(I did this using the App, but also on the T6 itself) Sounds very strange. I check heat mode, also goes down to 50F. What is the specific Honeywell model number of the one you have? Its a long number, not T6. I'm a technical engineer with over 40 years experience, you might need to factory reset it, perhaps has a problem with that unit, as there are some Advanced Menus for contractor configuration, so is it possible an installer configured this for you at installation and set min and max thresholds? (I did this at my work Data Center on another Honeywell thermostat so employees would stop changing it!)

One thing that really annoys me about this thermostat is that if I come home and it is set at 72 and then I lower it to 69 and it runs for a few minutes and I decide it is almost cool enough to I want to raise the set point from 69 to 70, it cuts the AC off and goes through a 5 minute cool down. That is so ridiculous. If the temperature is 72 and I only raise the set point to 70 why should it cut off? It should not cut off unless I raise it to 72 if the temperature is 72. Just saying sometimes I adjust it when I am downstairs and I might not want it to cut off but I want to raise the set point but I don't raise it to the current temperature so it should not cut off!
