which Roon version is best?windows mac or linux? There are big differences?

It's not the OS but the computer the DAC is connected to. I use the Sonore microRendu that separates the computer from the DAC.. See kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZIyGy5uupLGonJc.html.

Hi Hans I tried installing this img (roon-1.0.4) a couple of days ago and had a problem similar to the one below that I was going to post on your picoreplayer video: I'm having a problem with a Raspberry Pi 3 and picoreplayer 3.01. Roon doesn't startup when I have the RPi connected to a monitor/KB/mouse and boot up. I see it booting up, and I see picoreplayer at the top of the monitor, but at the end of the boot procedure what is displayed is: Finished picoreplayer setup crond [644]: time disparity of 24544642 minutes detected If I press I see: tc@picoreplayer:~$ I can go to a browser with an IP Address (192.168.1.106) and see the piCorePlayer Squeeze Audio Device page, though. So, when you say "now startup Roon", do you mean on a computer, on an iPad or something else? The reason I don't just install it on any of the above, is that my 14 day Roon trial would start then, & if my RPi installation isn't working properly, my trial could run out before I get it going and check it out. It is not supposed to give output to the monitor. Just switch it on, connect a DAC to the Digi+ or connect an amp to the DAC+, start up Roon, select Settings - Audio and the HiFiBerry card should show up under Roon Ready. The HiFiBerry Roon software makes the Raspberry Pi a more or less dumb device that catches Roon signals from the network and sends them to the HiFiBerry card.
