I have been using the Mofi cleaning pad and always found that it did a decent job. I felt like I could get a better clean than with my brushes. I will have to try the disc doctor pads at some point. As for the Mofi cleaners, they are designed to work a bit differently in that there is no surfactant, and the idea is that the surface tension of the fluid will draw and hold and dirt removed for the record. They have never stated what chemicals, if any, are used in the cleaner.

Records and water have the same electrical charge. Never use a fluid unless it has a list of ingredients. Always check the ingredients list against the pvc abd plasticizer chemical compatability chart before use. No ingredients listed, suggest not to use.

Good review, going to try out the Disc Dr. brush, been using MoFi brushes and cleaning fluid recipes from "The Audiophilemans" videos with good results.

I asked for Disc Doctor brushes and fluid for Christmas. Sounds like I chose wisely, haha. I was inspired by your demonstration in an earlier video.

I use the same 3 Mofi Fluids and a VPI RCM… however I use the VPI included brush to spread and agitate the fluid. Works great for me! I only use the MoFi brush with their Enzyme Plus Fluid that you spread and leave on for at least 5 min before vacuum off. I only use the Enzyme step (first step) on really dirty or finger print or a bit of old moldy type stuff on surface. So I add enzyme cleaner only for really old or thrift shop type vinyl shops. And the MoFi brush works great to distribute that fluid.

Instead of laying the vinyl on a cloth and moving the brush manually around the record surface, why not put it on the machine, turn it on and hold the brush steady while it moves across the grooves? I actually do this with my Pro-ject VC-E machine with a little scrubbing motion.

That is certainly an option and one that I suspect works just fine with the MoFi brushes. I guess I'm influenced by Disk Doctor brushes, which are similar to the MoFis. They too can be used while the cleaning machine is spinning, but I think they work much better on a flat surface. I will try the MoFis again with the record spinning. Thanks for watching

A word of caution. Common sense would predicate one consulting the ingredients list on the bittle if any cleaning solution before using it on a record or handling. No ingredients listed, suggest not buying the luquid. If a lust is present or is with the materials safety dara sheet, check the ingredients against the PVC and plasticizer chemical compatability chart for compatability with records. If used with cleaning machines that have pumps, motors, belts, also check the listed chemical's compatability with neoprene and rubber. Many machine failures attributed to chemicals used.

@@LetsCleanaRecord cool. I have been using one for about 1 year. Good machine. Really does get the junk out of the grooves. It’s kinda manual. But it Uber clean when done. It’s the best I have seen at a fraction of the cost of the KLAUDIO

A half hour to clean one record? Ouch.

There are indeed some time consuming methods out there no doubt. Check out our review of Tergikleen, where the maker's optimum approach is a MULTI-HOUR process. Ouch indeed! Thanks for the comments and of course, thanks for watching.
