My students play a game called Brain Bag. I tell them to write a brain dump about all of the information they remember from the unit. From the brain dump they write at least one question on an index card with the answer on the back. True or false and multiple choice work well in this game. Students need to write their name on the index card, too. We place all of the questions in a brown paper sack. This is our class “brain bag” with a bunch of facts we know. I put the students into teams and pull one card. The person who wrote the question asks it to the whole class. Each team records their answer on a small whiteboard, shows their whiteboard to me, and can earn a point for a correct response. The kids enjoy the game because they are generating the questions. It also helps to dispel misunderstandings if students write an incorrect answer for the question they submitted. As a class, we help to explain the correct answer.

What a great idea. I love the fact that the students are generating the questions on two fronts 1) it allows the students to particpate at a different level (not just answering questions) 2) takes away another time allocation job for teachers.

Michelle, have you tried playing Invisible Man with your students? They will love it. I see some similarities with your GrudgeBall game. Game: two or three teams; draw a stick-figure person on the whiteboard for each team (head, eyes, nose, mouth, arms, legs, feet... and to add more components to erase I write T-E-A-M 1 and T-E-A-M 2 at the top of each figure). With each question that is answered correctly, the student gets to erase any body part or letter from their own team’s stick figure. The winning team is the team who erases everything first. (Sometime I play Invisible Turkey or Invisible Christmas Tree or Invisible Snowman etc. depending on the season.) Enjoy!!

👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 for including in this title that these games work for primary AND secondary! I think every teacher could learn something from all of your videos! I know you’ve been a blessing to this secondary teacher! ❤️❤️
Was not expecting trashketball to be your favorite - that’s awesome! Hahaha I bet my middle schoolers would LOVE that as a review game. They try to play it anyways. Lol Thanks so much for sharing!!
Thank you!! Love all your game ideas. Now that is it is getting closer to the end of the term review games are great. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!
I love these! They've given me some great ideas for my first round of student teaching (my college does three levels). I've felt stuck because it's testing season and I'm with 4th grade and all of the time is taken up by test review. While the kiddos need to learn how to sit and focus on a task for an extended period of time, I feel like they need to shake it up a little.
AWESOME! I bought the trash cans and the kids were so excited when we played trashketball. First time they played so well TOGETHER! You're the best!
Love all these ideas. Kahoot! Is an all time favorite for all my classes but they live trashketball as well. I have your template for that which is awesome. I will be purchasing your other two templates now. Thanks so much. 😊❤️
Thank you for these beautiful ideas! Maybe it would be helpful if you demonstrated them in class with your students!
I LOVED THIS VIDEO! As a preservice teacher, I'm super excited to use these games in my own classroom in the future
Love it. Thank you for sharing. Great video topic! Would love a video about your math talks including the circle images on your whiteboard. Thanks for considering.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful / amazing video. I enjoy watching all your teacher videos.
Grudge ball! Definitely put a hoop on my wishlist because that’s such a good game for my leadership students!
+Pocketful of Primary Michelle , Yellow is My Favorite Color so thank you for the insight there . Also wish My Teachers in elementary school did review games with me like that back when I was an autistic student in school . It would make the school day more bearable for me without so much work needed from the students to allow me to get in the mood and bring myself to positivity everyday . Keep smiling beautiful . - Dwight
Awesome game review! Teachers need these types of videos bcs we forget about all the fun games that are out there. The amt of videos we tend to watch helps us to forget! Keep it up!😊
My Spanish teacher makes us play giant jenga. She has a giant jenga and we have to answer questions right to move a block. Usually people are split in 2 teams. If they knock over the tower, they lose all their points and the candy prize. (Yes, High schoolers love candy.)
Love the content!! This is something I can share with my numerous teacher friends!! I love all 5 review games especially Jenga trivia and Kahoot!! Jenga trivia allows for strategy and cooperation among your students to keep the stack up as long as possible. Kahoot is a great review tool. It serves multiple purposes. You can use it as a review tool for an assessment, or you can use it as a guide to see who gets the information during a lesson, or who needs a little more support with the response data. I have used something similar to Kahoot in our medical practice and I love it.

Russell Palatiere with Kahoot, my Spanish teacher will pause if a lot of people got a question wrong and explain it. It can be a little annoying but it definitely helps.
Love your ideas sooo much! ❤️ I sure am gonna try them with my second graders! Know that your ideas travel all the way through Montreal, Quebec!
LOVE your videos! ❤️ Found your channel a few weeks ago and have binge watched nearly all of them!
I teach adults in a trade school and these games are the boooommmbbb!!! Thank u soooo much. Your tips and tricks have made ME one of the best! I owe it all to u. Thank u so so much!!
My parent and I played the big Jenga Block game last night, and it was hilarious! I also play and led the Kahoot! game with my Sign Language club since I was teaching that day, they all enjoyed it! Yes, I controlled the game on my MacBook and played with the kids on my iPad! - Aaron
Super helpful!!! I’m so playing sink or swim with my student teachers 💪💥💪
I (and my students) love Kahoot! After making up 20-25 questions of content I always throw in a few questions about me. How old am I? What marathon HAVEN'T I run (yet)? Kids really like those questions. This week I discovered the beauty of Quizlet live. I tried it for the first time on Friday and oh wow that was a blast!
I REALLY like your games especially the no prep games that can be made electronically!
Awesome ideas especially as we move into testing season!!!
Taking notes here. Love your games. Thank you so much for sharing!!
My kids go NUTS over jeopardy! I split my class into 3-4 groups, and I use a basic jeopardy template to set up the questions. Each group gets the ability to pick a question and they have 30 - 60 seconds to discuss and answer. If they miss, the next team can steal for more points. It is so great for differentiation based off of the "value" of the questions and they get so excited about competing with each other!
I love playing Kahoot!, it really helps me prepare for tests. It’s especially good for high school students, because it gives us a chance to use our phones for something educational.
Thank you for the great ideas.
Great video topic, Kahoot I have used alot but as a sub it depends on the school district I am in if I have a log in etc. Ideas that do not require equipment are wonderful for subbing. Happy Sunday.
We had a day out at the pool, so I thought it would be appropriate to play Sink or Swim with my class. It did not go very well... But on the bright side, I have less students to deal with now.

De Froged hahahahaha
Love Kahoot! Haven't played the others, but they sure sound like winners!
If you have Smart Notebook software with your Smart Board, they have a number of templates for gamified review. I've used the Game Show feature for a team-building teacher workshop on conference day. (I'm the librarian and researched all kinds of trivia questions....Disney, Star Wars, music, TV, books, art, sports, etc). The teachers were ridiculously competitive! A thousand percent better than going to training about the new reading program or something.
I used your Trashketball Review Game for one of my Spanish 2R classes' tests (high school Spanish) and they were ALL engaged. They were so eager to get up and shoot.
My students LOVE playing Kahoot. I'm not a huge fan, but it's a great way to spend the last 7 minutes of a lesson when you don't have time to move on the next topic.
I love watching your videos BTW, I am a Jeopardy maker for review. Even made a board one time, now just play with point value cards, 50 pts equals harder questions. Kids loved it and then there is math to add your points up.
My kids love playing Stinky Feet! They love the randomness of picking a post-it!
Loving your new style Michelle!
This was great to watch, thanks Michelle! I will definitely incorporate Grudgeball into my middle school social studies class! As a sports guy, it suits my personality! I prefer review games to any kind of boring, ordinary review. I prefer Quizizz to Kahoot, though. From my personal experience, Kahoot gets a little too competitive and actually causes students to focus more on speed and they actually don’t truly focus on the review as much. I like that Quizizz is more to their pace, they can focus on the questions more, and there’s still a leaderboard for a “gamified” competition!
This is helping me so much ESPECIALLY WITH STANDARDIZE TESTING!
I’m also a teacher and my students rlly love family feud like they go CRAZY it’s hilarious 😂
This is my first semester doing any kind of teaching observations and student teaching, and this is fantastico 👌👌
Awesome video & I love playing KAHOOT 💖😎👍 I'll definitely mention these games to my teachers at my disability group 👍 so thank u for your suggestions 😇

I love Quizizz & Quizlet a ton! Self paced assessments & removing the making of vocabulary notecards allows scholars to interact with vocabulary :)
I cannot wait to try some of these review games!
Awesome suggestions, thank you!!
For trashketball, do you let every team try to shoot a basket for every question (assuming the team got the answer correct)? How do you choose what question number to use next? I’ve tried trashketball with your template, but I keep running into those issues.
Great review games! Thanks for sharing! Love your channel!💯👍
I'm a future ESL teacher and I am going to use some of these games in my class! Ty!
I love these! My kiddos are going to be obsessed :) How do you decide how to split up teams? Do you do it by the groups you already have with your desks? Number them off? Let them pick? I’m trying to decide the best way to make it flow in my classroom ❤️

Lauren Fairley I know I’m not a teacher but I thought I would add what my teachers do! At the beginning of the year, we all write out name on a popsicle stick. Then when the teacher is making groups or picking people to answer questions, they can pull out the groups randomly. Sometimes when making groups not randomly they just use the sticks as a way to organize who should be with who.
I'm not a teacher yet, but one thing I'm excited about is creating my classroom library. If you could do a video (or even comment) what are some of your top picks to have for read-alouds, or other books to have in the classroom?
I'm a student in the UK and I use Kahoot for Spanish class in the computer room
We use Jeopardy and my students love it! They get super competitive ( I teach high school). I might try the Jenga one! Thanks for the video 💚

I like the Jenga idea! I already use kahoot and I’ve played trashket ball before (not my fav). Thank you so much for your videos!
My math teacher does snakes and ladders for our review game and its pretty fun. we use her smart board to move our pieces and we solve the problem individually and then we talk with our group and write our final answer on the white board. we also use kahoot and we get really competitive.

A very cool idea, thank you for sharing.
I play a game I call Rapidus, but you could call it whatever you wanted. It's ideal for quick answer information, like spelling or math facts. I'm a Latin teacher, so I usually use it for vocabulary words. Students stand in a circle. One student has a soft-textured ball, something like the basketballs you use in your video. -When you have the ball, you have five seconds to answer the question, given verbally or displayed on a slide. If your answer is wrong, you sit down. If your answer is right, you throw the ball at another classmate to potentially get that classmate out. I usually also give students five seconds to throw the ball so that they don't spend too much time deliberating. -In throwing the ball, it should be somewhere between the person's neck and knees. Students can move to catch the ball but cannot move out of the way to pretend that the ball was not going for them. If the ball hits the student within the designated area, that student is out. If the student, however, catches the ball, he or she remains in and answers a question. -If the question was answered incorrectly by the previous student, that same question is given until someone in the class gets it right. -If the ball goes wild, the student who picks it up goes next. -The teacher's discretion is honored for determining bad throws and whether or not someone is truly out. -To win, students must survive the round. I usually plan two or three rounds per game so that students have multiple opportunities to win. I usually have this ready to go at any moment so that if a lesson ends early, we can quickly pull this game together to play as extra practice. Thanks for the tips. I'd never heard of Sink or Swim, and I think that my students will love it.

You should try Gimkit!! It pulls terms from Quizlet so very little prep :)
You should try quizlet or quizlet live my students love it
I think one of the best for high school is Kahoot. Our school super loves it
Growing up we would play jeopardy. One teacher had us playing spelling baseball.
Do you have videos where we can see you teach? Would love to see that. Love from the Netherlands.
thanks so much
I love your videos so much! I am only 12 but because of you I now want to become a teacher! Thank you so much! ❤️
I am not a teacher yet but I plan on studying how to be one in the near feature but in my high school foreign Lang class we play a spelling game called sparkle where everyone stands up or sits on the desks and we are given a word to spell. Then each person in the row, line or whomever is next says one letter of that word if the word is completed by that row the next person can say sparkle then the person next to them is out. If anyone says the wrong letter or does not say a letter within the time given they are also out and the word will counting with the next person in line
I'm not a teacher (but I've always wanted to be until life happened lol) but I'm obsessed with watching your videos
My students always loved Trashketball. I added a variation. Each team had a different question to answer. That way they weren't trying to cheat off each other(;
Hi Michelle! I have a question. For Trashsketball, if the entire team can contribute to the answer, how would you make sure that all the members participate and actually try to find the answer? I am scared that the students who are stronger in math will overtake the whole game.
hi i am new to this channel and we loved your video's
Growing up we always played “The not fair game” it works beat for upper elementary-high school just due to the fact that little ones might have a hard time with the “not fair” concept. Basically one the chalkboard (or whiteboard or smart board or whatever you place 3-5 envelopes with a small prize. A lunch bunch ticket, A prize, if you do school money or tickets, Candy etc. (don’t tell them what prize is in what envelope) then you ask various questions regarding different subjects. The students stand in a line. If the one first in line knows the answer they can put their name under a prize. If a name is already there they can cross that name out and write theirs under it. (This is what makes it “not fair”) if the student doesn’t know the answer, then they go to the back of a line. The game continues until you run out of questions, Time, or the board is filled up. (The choice is up to the teacher) which ever students have their name on the board (that hasn’t been crossed out) by the end of the game get the prize their name is under.
I'd love it if you gave us some homework ideas :)
With Kahoot, don't forget that the teams can be teams of 2 as well as larger teams- I found my class was too loud individually, and teams of 4 involved too much moving of furniture (in middle school) so I have them in pairs at their desks, which is a good balance between quiet and their own reactions
Will we ever see the Math bakery lesson in TPT? I'm a champion baker AND teacher...want to do this!!!
Do you have access to your classroom on weekends and holidays

Ooh yeah! I’ve played quizzizz in Spanish and really liked it. It’s similar to Kahoot just a little different. The classroom was super tense and quiet, but in a good way.
Oh Sink or Swim ...my kids loved it, I love it
We used to play this game called hot onion where their are pieces of have words on them and you would have to say the definition and pass the onion or we would play jeopardy
Who else is here before a thousand veiws ♥️❤️ love playing kahoot, traaketball, and Quizlet live. Great for class like mine.
I recommend Quizziz if you have not heard of it. It is very similar to Kahoot however it is my preference. I recommended checking it out
Please share the hair and makeup products you use in your next vlog! :)
One app that seems unlikely to be a good review thing is goose chase. It might not work well for you, but it’s basically a scavenger hunt. We did it in Spanish club and all the directions were in Spanish! There might be a way you could do it outside or something like that.
Low prep review games?? No way! I need to show my teachers this, lol. Thanks for the video and have a great day!!
So, the review game that my classroom uses is jeopardy. 4-6 different categories relating to the subject (for math) Then you have a teacher textbook that should have some math problems in it already and you can use that. Students are placed into 4 groups (or more) and one student at a time stands up with whiteboards. Every question is a certain amount of points (Like in jeopardy) if they get a question wrong they have to subtract points. You pick a student to keep track for points for their team. (It can get very competetive)
