Lovely video, especially the wide angle shots. I would have thought that metal handrails would actually be easier to install than injected plastic versions. You should show us refinishing one of those Mk. III coaches.

Thanks Randy. I'm due to give these Virgin MK3 coaches from Hornby another runout with a TPE Class 68 which has pulled them in real life.

Thanks for video - upon seeing your video last year and saving up - picked up same Loco; excellent detailed and works well on my small analogue test track. Well done Dapol - certainly going up well against previous big boy Hornby.

Yeah, Dapol did a great job here. Glad to hear it has worked out well on your layout.

A beautiful model of an impressive and attractive design, for modern image! I had an early version 68 010 Children Railway but i sold it on for the reason of the couplings fitted to the chassis and on the first corner it went round, the hook struck and went flying! 2nd radius curve. I was regretting it and when the update came out with the correct disk brakes i got one 68 010 Oxford Flyer. I live about 100 yards from the Chiltern line and see these and definitely hear these every day go by. My experience of the model is that its almost guaranteed to derail the stock if propelling, i dont like the chassis mounted couplings. I cant hear the correct sound from this running session it maybe just how it comes accross, but when they come past my home it sounds much more thumping and rumbling as you would expect from a V16 engine.

Some Chiltern MK3s would also be nice if we could get them. Sorry to hear of the derailing problems, Soundwise, I don't think I did a very good job of this particular recording. I'd also need to check the speaker I used. It needs more bass.

@@EuviRail Thank you for your reply. I have got the Hornby mk3 stock in the wrexham and Shropshire livery / basically blue greys and they were the ones that were de railing . Im going to take advice from someone's comment about those Hunt couplings as i think they would be the way to go?

Thanks Stuart. That's some Class 68 collection. Were you ever able to get any Chiltern MK3 coaching stock?

    Is this the £160 one?

This would be the £260 sound equipped version. DCC fitted would be around the £160 mark from the main retailers with the non-DCC version coming in around £136 from the same source (with an RRP of £160).
