Your enthusiasm for this one is justified. The best of both worlds of doom and classic heavy metal. Love it.
Another great release from Crypt Sermon. It will definitely be one of my top albums of the year.
Pete. Sounds great. Thanks for your time 👍💯
Glad you went ahead and reviewed the album this week though will look forward to more when you and Rich have your next episode. Listened to the first two tracks and the closer in total and some excerpts from the rest. Enjoyed all heard and now need to listen to this and the two earlier albums as well. Title track closing the favorite so far. Once again, proving why the weekly new product episodes are must watch - even as a catch-up view a few days late. Thanks once again, Pete.
A very close to perfect release, easily a 4,5 out of 5 album for me, and probably my second favorite release of 2024 so far. I especially hear Solitude Aeturnus vibes on this one; epic doom at it's VERY best. 👌 Excellent review, Pete.. 👍
This new Crypt Sermon is a potential album of the year candidate and my favorite album from Crypt Sermon. It's an amazing doom metal release with tons of influences from Candlemass, Solitude Aeturnus, and Trouble.
this album is awesome. i'm having a hard time deciding whether this or the new Heavy Temple is my favorite in 2024, so far. And both from Philly🤷

Killer record. Had not heard of Crypt Sermon until recently, but this was a no-brainer to pick up after one listen.

@@iceclimbers22 i would say this is their best, but the other two are in the same vein and worth getting. not a bad apple in the bunch.

Agreed. And six months left to see what else is coming. The choice for album of the year can only get harder from now on.

This album definitely DOES deserve its own show! An amazing release for sure. Thanks Pete.
Great review Pete, i was blown away by this album to one of my most anticipated albums for the year, it will guaranteed be in my top 5 at end of year 🤘🏻
All three of their albums are great. I'm a big fan. My cassette just arrived yesterday. Thanks for this one, Pete!
Will have to check on this album. Don't know and will hear it. Batting a 1000 today Pete. Ever thanks!
Hi Pete. Great review. Sounds right up my alley. i will definitely check it out.
Nice job! After being blown away by Solitude Aeturnus at Hell's Heroes, I was wishing they would make another album. But Crypt Sermon truly scratches that itch and more. I'm working on a Spring Rundown which includes Tarot and Crypt Sermon. Also Vitskär Süden - Vessel, Pallbearer - Minds Burn Alive, and a band you may not have heard yet, the fifth from Custard Flux, Einsteinium Delirium. I just reached out to Curvey to see if he can send you all five of their CDs, cuz I think you'd dig their aesthetic. They started as an all acoustic psych prog project without really sounding folky, and the latest is all electric and hard rockin.
Just saw them at Maryland Deathfest Pre show in late May and then this past Friday night in Philly for their album release show and they were stellar both shows !!! Likely my AOTY this band just kills love and on wax !!!
New to these guys, fantastic album. Aoty contender for me.
One of the best metal albums to be released this year.
The great Heavy Temple also from Philly
You should check out the new Black Pyramid Pete! It’s great and epic as all hell!
You know you are getting very very old when there’s a band right in your town that you don’t know of. I’ll be checking this out and all the other albums in the next few hours!

Great great album. Vocals are very reminiscent of Jon Oliva, which is huge compliment…
Awesome album! I think the singer sounds a lot like Jon Oliva from Savatage.
An excellent album and definitely a grower. I will say though that the vocals on the last couple of albums aren't as strong as they were on the debut! Not that they are bad now by any means, its just i preferred the more Robert Lowe timbre he had on Out Of The Garden. Still a great record tho, the guitar work is exceptional!
Fu Manchu new album review next week?

@@seaoftranquilityprog Weird, the date listed is June 14, and I have the files. I'm guessing you're waiting for the CD.
I don't like them all that much, I greatly prefer their citymates Heavy Temple. Thanks for all the reviews, Pete!
I guess I should probably check this album out. I HATE stoner doom like Electric Wizard and Saint Vitus but that 86-92 era of Candlemass and first two Solitude Aeturnus albums rule. When there are tempo changes and it is not slow all the time doom can be good when it almost sounds like it has more in common with classic power metal than Sludgy slow stuff. I’ll have to give this album (and the two before it) a listen.
