Hi Will, Thank you for your review and your honest words, we continue working to improve in every way. Our pieces are all cut with laser but there was a run that came out with the sharpest edges, for a few weeks we have worked the edges of the pedals with various sandpaper and rollers. Also shortly we will have a product specially designed for people who use the pedals barefoot or with socks. Stay tuned. In addition to facilitating the assembly, we are including some washers like the ones you indicate that you have used to mount the flat base on your chassis. The community is very important to us and thanks to your words and comments we continue to improve. We are looking forward to you trying the load cell version. Back to work

I got mine this week, I was convinced by this review. Thanks Will. Sharing my feedback as well. The edges are sharp yeah, I got scraped when unscrewing the throttle bolts to adjust. The brake unit I got has a little play - I've adjusted input in software to compensate but thought mentioning here. I've only used the pedals a couple of times and I'm very happy with it overall. I've noticed the gain on consistency and pedal control right off the bat, which translated to consistent fast lap times. Only those 2 minor issues above.

Great pedals, I have non hydravlic type. Sadly I was a bit dissapointed with them because 2 rubber rings on brake pedals BROKE mid race - I prefer stiffer setting. But then I wrote to manufacturer and received replacement parts within 4 days without complications and they put max effort to resolve this issue. Glad I bought them. Looking forward for you comparison between hydravlic and non hydravlic version.

I had some deadzone with these brake pedal. But you can adjust that easy. The support is excelent and they sent me a video how I can adjust the pedals that I have no more deadzone. You only have to loosen the nut on the pedal arm and then rotate the rod which is connected to the hydraulic (against clockwize I think). In this way you adjust the preload of the hydraulic. Now, I have no more deadzone like Will described.

Nice review ! They really look awesome for the price ! I have two question though : - did you try the pedal set on a formula style driving ? With short course and high pressure combinaison. If yes, how did it feel ? - at 46:49, on the slave cylinder closeup, it looks like there is a bit of black/green fluid at the connector, is this a visual effect or is there any fluid leak ? I heard you said you had not any leak, but from that perspective it looks so. Thanks again for your detailed review, you really make quality content, keep it up !

  • @boostedmedia

Yeah they feel good for formula driving. Can stiffen them up a bit if you prefer by increasing preload. No leaks. What you see is a bit of grease which seems to have been applied as part of the assembly process. It’s not the hydraulic fluid.

Hi - I like the review and it gives a good overall impression, but I would like to know about the pressure which must be set on the brake pedal; is it smoother than a LC brake pedal? I have always been unsatisfied with the LC brake pedals and was looking for a brake pedal which is close to a real car brake or a balance beam brake which could be found in most (older) race cars or even in rallye cars ... any information on this would be helpful. I haven't installed the pedals at the moment but what i can say that i have much more movement at the beginning, which i really don't like at all. After the movement it´s really stiff, but i don't like the way before, it's about a half cm of movement.

The BJ brake is smoother than the Simtag at east in my experience. With the Simtag you get a slight underpinning texture which is present on most hydraulic pedals I’ve tested. Similar to a road car, the BJs feel more similar to HE Ultimates than any of the other hydraulic pedals I’ve tested. So it’s pretty much a personal preference thing.

im not completely impressed by these. i spend my time drifting grass roots cars, and pedals in those cars arent stiff like a racecar. the brake pedal im looking for would have about 4-6 inches of travel, and i want to feel the hydraulic working through it all. the clutch's bite point would be broader, and spongy. i want to slip the clutch like i would in a real car, not having to skirt the tires at all when im leaving my pit area. anyone who cant slip the clutch in the pits IRL would most likely not be allowed back at the track.

That finish looks really lazy, just let someone file down the edges, that is 15min of work on each padal set max and i can't imagine this being a high volume product. These high priced pedal sets all look so similar, i feel like they copy/influence each other a lot. Most of the parts they use are commodity parts as well. So with the different pedal sets so close in function to each other, i'm suprised they put no effort into their software gui, it looks just really bad and unintuitive. For 900€ i would expect more effort into this, especially as a selling point, ease of use is nothing to forget about. I can't argue their performance, have not tried them.

@@jacobcisco7059 I have a hard time understanding the tone of you message tbh. In EU money, the pedal set is about a grand, do you mean australian dollar? The clutchless set is 780€, which is an easier price to swallow. The loadcell version without the clutch is 380€, which is certainly a good price. All of the models have the same build quality/finish however, so my assessment stands, you get the function of an expensive pedal set for the fit and finish of a cheaper pedal set. Everyone has different priorities.

its not their software, its using software made by the company that supplies the load cell - which is Leo Bodnar. And there’s nothing wrong with it. Does exactly whats it supposed to do. literally takes 5-10 mins to calibrate and then you forget about it unless you want to tweak further. So why would they spend a ton of man hours and money on creating a gui that isn’t even needed? Dont agree with your point on the design either.. They’re primary purpose is to function properly for the price. if thats why they all look similar - because the design works, then whats wrong with that?

@@Gino_567 My point is that it is the same product over and over again with minimal differences, the market is saturated. These willwood brake cylinders are cheap as chips btw, 60€ retail. A simple gui for so few functions does not take a ton of man hours. There is nothing that differentiates this product from other pedal sets, i just think it is lazy design. Even Will mentions that he wasn't excited to review the product.
