Thanks for the honest video. I'm just brainstorming why the tap water sample did not show chlorine. 1. Is there a whole house water filter installed? 2. Did your hand or fingers make contact with the tap water sample? I understand Chlorine absorbs into the skin. I'm not sure how rapid that happens. 3. Maybe the municipality treats the water with UV and Ozone and little to no chlorine or chloramine. 4. Does the test kit test for chloramine and chlorine? Maybe the chloramine molecule needs to be broken to separate the ammonia and chlorine for the chlorine to show? Ok, brainstorm session is done. Now the ideas can be critiqued.

Thanks for reaching out. I Came to find out that in our municipality the water is not treated with chlorine. The kit tests for chlorine, not Chloramine.

Great video but these things give me skin issues as compared to showering without them. Not very much information as to what is inside many of them but I'd be curious why they are making me itch so much!

​@@theshowerheadstore Yes, just itchy with no visible skin irritation. I have stopped using it for 5 days now and feel much better. I also found it difficult to find other people experiencing thing but was only able to find a couple of posts. I was using the top rated one on Amazon (Sun Rise) , which was made in China.

I bought the Shower Pure Sprite shower filter, slim line 2 with dial-a-date. Can this filter be used with a hand held shower head? Also, is the filter replaceable or due you have to throw the whole unit out and buy new in 6 months?

Yes, can be used with a handheld. Filter gets thrown out but you keep the housing.

Well that was a waste. Send the water out to test a lab man. You need to hang up your lab coat.

Seriously! I’m trying to figure out what to test for after I add a shower filter. Idk if that’s all I care about is lead and chlorine, I wonder why it’s not important to this guy.

Unfortunately Sprite filters are not great. If you really want to know if your shower filter is legit, use a quality air purifier when you shower. If you complete a hot shower without much detection from the purifier then you have an excellent filter. The air quality in my home is 4 times better WITHOUT the sprite filter shower. Meaning that the sprite filter is releasing carcinogens in the air when you shower. Sprite is only barely better than Aquabliss which also failed miserably. Next I’ll try Hydroviv….. but thus far I have not found a legitimate shower filter that doesn’t cause air pollution.

@@theshowerheadstore I actually got some more feedback from the “water nerds” at Hydroviv. Apparently there are no shower filters on the market that remove PFAs currently. There have not been standards established for it as it is believed the most damaged is caused by water you ingest, not just what comes in contact with the skin. It seems not enough people take air quality into consideration and probably are oblivious that every time you shower you’re likely polluting the air in your home “contingent on the water quality in your area”. I don’t know who to speak to in order to raise awareness for this, but it’s pretty sad. Removing 5 contaminants or less in shower water when we can remove well over 200 in drinking water seems like a pretty large gap. There’s an obvious difference in flow rate between tap water and a shower, but this gap should be closed quite a bit more.

@@theshowerheadstore I just tried the Hydroviv filter….and…..IT WORKS!!! The air was still generally clean after 30 min of hott showering. I’d add them to your inventory if I were you.
