Love this! Can’t wait to try it.
Great idea with the big pocket and being able to take out the waist ties! Thanks!
Love this!! Aprons always remind me of my grandmother. :D Sweet memories. :D Just as I was thinking the only thing it needed was pockets......you showed the pockets! LOL Too cute and clever! I'd have to stitch a pocket around the opening or I'd be dropping things to the hem of the apron and desperately trying to retrieve them! LOL You're always such an inspiration! TFS! xoxoJanet

Great idea to stitch a pocket or we'd lose anything we put in there, except our hands...lol.. I asked a similar question about the 'bonus' pockets. Thought I'd somehow missed the explanation. Thanks, Janet H.
Love this project!

Wonderful tutorial, very easy to follow instructions as usual, thank you. I just paid £11 for a pattern to make my daughter an apron. Grrrr
What great fabric!!
Hi Laura and thanks again for another great tutorial! That's a lovely apron! 😎🌸
Thanks Laura, another nice project.
Thats a really nice Pattern. It would also be really nice made out of linen, as it would take the gathers lovely. Just as a simple, sweet, rustic farmhouse look.

Hola, maravillosa idea , un saludo desde España
I love your videos. Your instructions and hand motions make them so easy to understand. This is a great apron. I must make some. I too would see a smaller pocket at the opening. My grandmother made aprons with half of a hand towel attached for drying her hands. I’ll have to figure out a neat way to add that feature. Thanks for your videos.

so so cute!!!!
Lovely apron, and easy to make. I have a problem where I hate getting an apron dirty.... LOL ... I have a problem! LOL
Lovely thanks
REally cool I certainly will try this, was thinking I need a new apron hehe. When stitching the seam allowances u can also stitch the other side so u have 4 lines of stiches total and then both sides will be identical, well if you are fussy to do it I guess
Cute video!
Love the pattern! I think the pocket would be more usable if I just sewed a pocket shape around that opening. Pocket depth to the hem is too deep. how about a button on the side for a little towel? Thanks for the tutorial. Aprons have lost status with the younger folk. Bring 'em back. They're hospitality armour!

Rose Johnson if you have snap pliers, snaps would be quicker and less complicated to use than a button.

I would just add a belt loop at the top corner to run a towel through. On a classic chef apron the towel should be secure yet easy to remove for emergencies. If you start thinking snaps or buttons, then you have to have accessory towels with the apron. But with a belt loop, any towel works. I'm thinking of this apron in a more utilitarian use, rather than a total "hostessy" look.
I like it
I would make the reverse side with another print fabric.

The point of making it the same is so a host can flip their apron to hide a spill or stain without the guests noticing.
I loved this! Just didn’t do the Pockets.
you're so beautiful just like the projects you create...

Cutest apron ever!!! I am still having a hard time cutting a straight line. I've bought a mat, new blades for my rotary cutter, and all kinds of acrylic scales, this left hand continues to veer off to the left, arg! Maybe it's the arthritis . But I'm going to keep trying, I want to make this, you are an inspiration!!

This might help you. Put your pointer finger on top of the rotary cutter, and then "point" your finger slightly toward the ruler edge as you cut. So, you are going to grasp the rotary cutter handle like normal, thumb on one side, fingers on the other. Then lift your pointer finger, and place it on top (assuming your rotary cutter safely keeps your finger away from the blade). Then cut, and slightly point your finger inward toward the edge of the ruler. Your brain will follow your pointer finger better as it's the dominant finger on your hand. You are not trying to cut the ruler, just drive the cutter slightly toward the edge of it as you go. This will prevent you from veering away.

I use a spring clamp (can buy from Lowe's or Home Depot) to hold the bottom of the ruler to the table so when I'm using the rotary cutter, I can focus on holding the top of the ruler steady.

Karen Church thank you so much, will try that!!
I loved your video, but I was not crazy over the ruffle. I am going to try it with a solid strip down at the bottom.
Loved it! I need an apron with the top too (really messy) and ties in front or no ties (right side doesn't work). Any like this?
I love pockets; but I'm not sure I would want to fish out items from the bottom of the apron. I think I would add some stitches to outline a designated pocket area.
Absolutely darling! Where do you find these great sewing ideas? Checking my stash!! Thank you Laura!
Please show us a video that shows how to do an apron with pockets for collecting eggs.
What a supercute apron! Would you recommend pre-washing the fabric? thank you for all your fabulous videos!

you should always prewash your fabrics before you start a project. just make sure tgat if its something thar ravels, like flannel, to either use pinking shears on or run a zigzag stitch up the cut edges to keep fraying to a minimum
@mzkappy

Yes, if it's something you would be washing in the future. That way the fabric will be pre-shrunk. If it's something like a purse or decorative wall hanging, etc., you don't have to, and probably don't want too because you will lose the crispness of the fabric.

Made two of these yesterday. Great idea. How would you add more for larger women?
@SewVeryEasy

just cut the fabric bigger at the sides:) Try adding 3" on side to start
what is the yardage for each of the fabrics?
