Reverse Rubber Band Method| Easy Retouch On Jumbo Box Braids

Hey beauties! So Syd and I (my daughter) who has 4c natural hair. We have an important place to go tomorrow. I did not have the time or patience to take down her jumbo box braids and redo them. So I came up with the idea with reverse rubber band method. The idea is to add moisture back into the hair and collect the new growth and add rubber bands to refresh the look of the braids in little to no time. I forgot to add that she will sleep in a silk scarf to lay down all fly away. This is the perfect method for anyone patent who doesn’t have time to braid or who is in between salon visits. This protective style is temporary and should not be used for long wear, rubber bands will cause breakage.

Lol!!!! People are really reaching on this, at the end of the day, mom's do a lot. Especially when you have little girls! I was that kid that wanted my hair to look nice, my sister? Didn't care so much. So if my mom did a style I didn't care for, she would say " we have to go with this for 2 or 3 days (I would watch that damn calendar like a hawk) and then I'll fix it for you". Thank GOD my mother knew how to braid and plait and apply beads growing up! Didn't have to waste $$ on a salon. In turn I've turned out to be the same. I pray I don't have girls when my time comes, but this was a quick fix to going somewhere dad. We had every other weekend with my biological. Saturday afternoon OR after church was usually hair day! Every week or 2 weeks. If Mommy couldn't get to us, she would take us to our Great Aunt's Beauty Salon for a wash, deep condition and hot comb/curls--those women knew how to press hair!

It's is a good idea. But depending how long the braids were in before she did this all depends how much longer she keeps this style after the fact. SO still need to be careful

I’m sure this isn’t her first rodeo so I’m sure she knows exactly what she is doing & while I do not know her personally, As a mother, I’m sure she probably wouldn’t do anything to harm her child or her hair.

When you post videos people will have things to say whether it be positive or negative. People are entitled to their opinions in the comments section, but there is no need to be cruel with the comments. I understood why she posted the video. She's just trying to show people a quick way to make braids look decent until she takes them out.

U probably should just take it down. Wash and condition it. Put it in a quick top puff ball. That doesn't look very neat. And u just keep pack n crap on top of this "done" doo. Take another 20 mins. It would be well spent😬🤗

Nena' Jones That’s the thing, I don’t just wash and condition her hair real quick and throw it in a ponytail. Wash day is a long process for us. That’s why her hair is super healthy. I need time to care for it the right way. Throwing course hair into a ponytail is terrrrible. In my opinion 🤷🏾‍♀️

Do u not understand that she has 4c hair? There is no just wash and put it in a puff. You have to thoroughly detangle her hair. Even I can’t do that and my hair is mostly 4b. Doing as u suggested is the worst mistake ever made.

I have done this plenty of times to save time when my girls were headed with their father! Or just because I didn’t have time to take down, wash, deep condition and so forth. It doesn’t cause damage because the hair is moisturized and also most kids hair can be re moisturized with water without being washed and it doesn’t harm a thing! Thanks for sharing this video this could help a lot of moms out there!
