Great breakdowns man, would love to see more since you get into those finer details a lot of people normally gloss over. Maybe one for Straddle Press Handstands?

Thank you! I'll definitely make tutorials for presses, handstands etc somewhere down the line. I just feel there are so many videos already out there for things like that and don't want to get lost in the crowd. I'll definitely make extreeeemely long tutorials for them one day, though!

Wow that looked cool, first I gotta figure out how to do a front walkover and a cartwheel 😅 I can do a back bend from standing but I can’t even do a back walkover or anything like that, and for a cartwheel I just can’t get my legs up high enough to where they’re going up and over instead of out and around. I also can’t do a handstand. So yeah I’m a work in progress but after I learn some more I’ll come back to this video and see if I can try it

Can you turn the no hands version into a raiz if you jump higher? Someone told me that Raiz is not gumbi with no hands but it's reversao with no hands? can I have your opinion?

  • @ScottMcDonaldAcrobat

You can turn the no hands version into a raiz if you turn your hips to face the floor. A reversao with no hands is not a raiz; in a raiz the hips don't stay facing the ceiling all the way through the landing. It'll definitely help increase control and air awareness, but it isn't the same thing.

@@ScottMcDonaldAcrobat "Would you say gumbi with no hands are raiz? sorry for asking these questions. I am a beginner (with martial arts background) I wanted to progress my way to td raiz and raiz so I started working on gumbi and it took me like 6 months to get it. Then I just watched a clip where recommended to learn reversao before learning raiz!!

@@sprazer No problem, I'm happy to help! There's definitely no harm in learning a reversao but it won't lead as directly to a raiz as a gumbi would. I actually did my very first reversao by accident while attempting gumbis, come to think of it. Happy accident :) I learned raiz by doing tornado kicks and leaning my way further and further back; in retrospect I don't think that was the best way to learn but it was a more comfortable way for me to progress it without a gym or equipment. kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z4GYu5NuotuZl9Y.html I would recommend this tutorial (and his work in general) for your gumbi and raiz :D
