And she didn't even need to defend or make excuses for him. There are several ordinary people married into Royal families now. Including Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, and that was over 20 years ago because she met Crown Prince Frederick in Sydney at the 2000 Olympics. I'm sure her children family felt a little weird on the international stage at Mary's wedding too. Her Dad gave her away and they were proud and not embarrassed.

I may have mentioned this before but as a South African who is of mixed heritage and who grew up under apartheid, I know all about experiencing racism but I'm so tired of identity politics and people thinking racism only comes from white people. All people can be racist. Why is society trying to convince me that only black people have the monopoly on racism? I'm so tired of society being so blatantly racist and ignorant in the name of racial justice?! There is racism, colorism and prejudice in every race (the human race). I say this as someone who is of German, African and Dutch heritage. I'm a human being and judge and want to be judged on the content of my character. Society needs to wake up and stop this madness, it's only creating more division amonst us in my opinion. History is there to teach us how to be better. Changing and rewriting history and critisizing people for being a certain colour so blatantly, confuses people in my opinion and they are bound to make the same mistakes again.

You have truly said that histories mistakes should not be forgotten. Racism, factions, sectarianism, have to be set aside as a new world is before us. Everyone needs to turn to each other to bring this new millennium to begin healing these differences. This will not be easy. I am not naive. But I am hopeful that with global content on various platforms and media, that we can learn about each other as individuals and as part of different cultures. The youth of today, such as those under the Prince of Edinburgh Trust, are going to be the leaders in industry, government, academia, science, etc. We senior people can learn from them. But we can also remind them of what it was like in the past, and guide with our knowledge, and also give warnings about possible destructive suggestions.

It was due to our last name being Spanish and our hard working Mexican immigrant father. Kids would yell "Eww! Get away! My mom told me not to play with you cuz you're a dirty Mexican!". Had a school bus driver call us "dirty Mexicans" (my sister and I). He faced no consequences. Never had a friend for long let alone a boyfriend and certainly never invited to any school dances or other classmate's birthday parties. ALL. CUZ. A. LAST. NAME. My older sister and I were "persona non grata" and our community let us know as much.

The wedding felt like a performance. Nothing felt like it was a celebration of love.

If you ever watched the video of the wedding, you could see Queen Elizabeth was not happy. She was a very wise and discerning woman. I think her heart was broken by Harry's choice. 😔

I grew up going to church with my grandparents, one set Baptist and the other First Christian. As a teen my best friend and I were always in church with her family, a black Methodist church. I couldn't watch the entire 'sermon' of their wedding because of exactly what you said: it was off. Something was so inauthentic about it that it literally was too distracting, and I also knew nothing about her. Trust your gut! 😂

The wedding was the first time I saw Doria and realized Meghan was biracial. At the time, I thought it was strange there were no other family members and no maid/matron of honor. Why couldn’t Harry have invited ALL his friends/family? She had no family taking up seats. I’m glad to hear the RF thought it was weird! I agree Meghan looked a hot mess with an ill-fitting dress ( shocking for a so-called couture house) and a hair-do my nine year old granddaughter could have done better. I’ve listened to countless videos about the Harkles, but this wedding account really does take the cake(pun intended).😊 The bishop and choir seemed quite contrived and out of place. I still can’t get over the looks on ALL of the RF’s faces, especially the Queen and Prince Philip. I was perplexed at the time. I could not figure out why they all looked genuinely angry and disgusted. Thank you, Cheere Denise, for these informative and entertaining reviews. The fact that MM's NOT communicating the travel plans, never sent an actual invitation to Thomas, sends a driver to take him to LAX 2 days prior to his flight...tells me she absolutely set him up with the photographer. And I'm convinced she was directing the shots to be taken from behind the scenes.

Meg's uncle was a diplomat and used to embassy events. She really owed him but she still blew him off. Her niece deserves to feel used.

The wedding guest-list actually worked in her favour - for a little while. Those of us (which is most of us!) who were supportive of the Prince Harry we thought we knew but we had no idea who Smeg was, we actually thought, "Wow - she mustn't have any family to speak of - but just look at all of her Hollywood friends!" Even Oprah! I remember thinking she must be soooo loved in Hollywood! I never thought for one second that she would invite a whole church full of people she had never even met - much less could I later figure out why on earth all those famous people would even ACCEPT an invitation to a wedding of someone they've never even met! It's so contrived and SO TACKY! I really admire Reece Witherspoon for rejecting the invitation to attend on the grounds that she didn't even know them & hadn't ever met them ... But at the time I had no idea she didn't even know any of them - and I remember the revulsion I felt when I did learn the truth about the guest-list. Slowly the truth came out about all of these details, and even more so about who and what she truly is, and when it did come out, how quickly that massive support that she had had on her promotion day.. woops, I mean wedding day - sharply dropped off. But it did work for her - for a little while. As for Doria, I remember thinking how brave & stoic she appeared, sitting there all alone. No one sitting close to her even acknowledged her & I even felt sorry for her. But now we know that her performance was every bit as contrived as Smegs' was. I vividly recall when Her Majesty arrived & I realised something was very odd ... I'd also watched William's wedding to Catherine (of course) and our Queen had been so radiantly joyous on the day of their nuptials .. But not on this day. And then the irreverent Rev. Michael Curry started with his thunderous hellfire & brimstone UNSCRIPTED sermon - and the Queen's face turned equally thunderous, like a storm cloud - I knew that Her Majesty was PISSED! It's not done in St George's Chapel - and was clearly done as a gigantic FU to Her Majesty and to the Monarchy in general. It later emerged that Curry had been required to submit his sermon IN WRITING for Royal approval - but then he hadn't even stuck to the FIRST LINE! Which explains the shocked looks between members of the BRF and congregation alike, with even sniggers to outright laughter breaking out. Catherine's side-eye at Camilla who hid her laughter under the 'prawn-platter' hat was well-noted. And still it was a another year before all these details emerged, and until then I'd still hoped that they'd make it as a couple. But by then I had no choice but to withdraw all support for Smeg - but I was silly enough to believe that she was all of the problem, and that she was leading #5 around by the nose. How assured we can be that the truth WILL out - and while we don't know all of the truths YET, it will ALL come out in the wash. Eventually. Especially once divorce proceedings begin! And I am so there for it ... because for me, what began as total support for them both - (and I even defended them!) - has turned into utter loathing for the pair of them ... for all of their lies, the BS, their horrible trashing of her family and of their efforts to destroy the BRF. They are both despicable human beings! 😱🤮❌

Shelby, Meghan was not.ashamed of her father. She had asked him to escort her down the aisle. Samantha did not have a good word to say about Meghan, yet demanded, announced, that she forgave Meghan for some undisclosed wrong-doing, and demanded an invitation to the wedding. As for the half-brother Tom, he advised Harry not to marry Meghan. Those two Markles, brother and sister, are a collective piece of work. Whatever disrespect there might have been, it did not come from Meghan.

There is now no guarantee that pictures of a meeting between Thomas, Meghan and Harry won't end up in the tabloids the very next day. The letter was not abusive. Didn't you see it? It was published in the tabloids. And she talked to him before the wedding. She wanted to send a medical team to take care of him, but he would not tell her which hospital he was in.

According to Harry’s own account in Spare, they wanted St Paul’s Cathedral first, but William said nope, our parents married there. Then Harry said Westminster, but William said nope, I married Catherine there. So they settled on St George’s.

I often repeat play ones I've already watched and listen to your hysterical comments and deadpan asides while doing chores around the house and they still make me laugh! One of the things I most dislike about Harry is that he appears to be hyper-aware of himself. He is acting a role, playing the constant jokester with the kids, clamoring to the camera while pretending to despise it. Add to that - he’s just not likable.

There’s not enough tiaras in the kingdom that could make that ‘man’ attractive to me.

Apparently her dad was the one who knew George Clooney from working on movies with him for years so it was very strange when she invited George Clooney but didn’t make sure her father was in attendance! She such a vile and shady witch!

Btw, The Clooney's since at least March 2019 up until just two weeks ago have repeatedly stepped out to rep The Prince's Trust... yeah. George's hysterics have forever linked him to the aftermath of Princess Di's death. The Clooney's went to the wedding not knowing them. They loaned Meg their jet and Amal went to her baby shower. And in Feb 2019, when The Harkles were being criticised for well, everything, including their vacationing and frequent use of private jets while Harry moaned hypocritically about the environment--George, along with 😒 Ellen and Elton John defended them. But since then? Literally a month after saying Meghan's been "pursued and vilified"? Nada. Not a word, not a hand out. That's the long game. That's what it's all about. Just like people think Elton John is team Harkles and hates Charles because of Diana. Meanwhile, he was featured in a BBC interview at the coronation and accepted another honor, bestowed by Charles, just two years ago! They're all Team Themselves. Oprah would leave Meghan in the dirt if Catherine snapped her fingers. Edited- To add the Feb 2019 date. It's the last time I recall the Clooney's "associating" with Meghan and Harry at all. They were on the red carpet with Charles a month later and have continued to align themselves and their foundation with the monarchy!

I thought he was quite sweet, and clearly very enthusiastic about his faith, but I agree with you, an Anglican service was not a good fit for his particular style of preaching.

A friend of mine had invitations printed and put on “The Wedding” in her lovely garden and we all dressed up and watched The Royal Wedding! After we had a party. Me and thousands of British people were taken in by that woman.

We had a Royal Wedding‘reception’ and watched on our breaks and lunch🎉🎉 If we knew what we know now, the reception would be rotten tomatoes 🍅

I ended up laughing hysterically during Bishop Curry's UTTERLY BIZARRE "sermon". He''s clearly Narcissistic (as are many "reverends") his sermon was repetitive and out of touch for the event and venue. Pretty sure Markle has never attended a "black" church (or any church) in her entire life.

Chelsy was a very young and beautiful sun-kissed girl. I saw a video of Cressida in a dance video - she came across as lithe and gentle, an upper class British girl. I am so surprised that she was ever with Harry. Both Chelsy and Cressida would have been perfect for the RF, much like Catherine. And then you look at Meghan - at the time a 36 y/o somewhat hard-core struggling actress and such a dichotomy from his previous girlfriends. It's so sad how misguided Harry was because he would not listen to anyone. Meghan would never fit in - not only in the RF but any upper class family. It is so amazing - but not really - how a woman who knew how to physically manipulate men - was able to get herself in there. However if we look back at history, it's not that surprising.

If Cressida and Chelsy felt that they were being.intrrviewed for a job, and not being courted for a marriage, therein might lie part of the reason they turned Harry down. The other part wouldn't have been the intrusive self-involvement of the tabloids in what should have been a pro time for a courting couple.

Meghan and Harry didn't even have a long courtship. She was madly in love with Harry's 'Prince' title - not him - and what it could do for her. Whereas Chelsy and Cressida were with Harry for him, not a title.

They obviously seemed genuinely nice and happy and Harry always seemed relaxed and happy when he was with them. He's never shown that kind of ease and happiness with MEEgain. NEVER! Now he just looks like a beaten down, bitter, angry old man. Early in 'Revenge' Tom Bowers included a post that Cressida wrote. It seemed to be aimed at Harry and what he was like to her. Not positive. I can't remember what chapter/#video it was. Sometime after the engagement, maybe.

We in the uk are praying that Harry does not find another American girl who has a fantasy about castles and princes. Charles chose the gospel choir as he wanted it to be politically correct.

I was in Ireland about 6 months after their wedding and Ireland was voting to legalize abortion. I was shocked to read that Meghan was campaigning for abortion as it just seemed way too political for a Royal.

Whether she, or anyone, believes in abortion isn’t the point, it’s the fact that she spoke out about it while being in the RF. That’s one big problem because if someone spoke out there would be one part of society that would be alienated and that’s not what the RF do

There is no way I’d fly to England just to go to the ceremony and not the reception

Thomas made over 200k a year. The royal family had done a full back round check on M fairly early on. Catherine's uncle Gary was convicted on a drug charge and she never excluded him or disowned him.

Don’t forget the “Royals” attend all movie premiere s and Diana was always star struck too.

I had to chuckle when you described Meghan as someone who seemed okay with being in the spotlight because, wow, what an understatement!😂

Catherine actually has an uncle with a similarly embarrassing history as Tom Jr. I’ve never seen any indication that Catherine deliberately cut him out.

"I found my prince" could be a romantic statement if marrying a supermarket manager -- but yes if he's an actual prince it sounds like she was just looking for that title all along...

If the Queen was okay with it, that stare that she gave the proceedings and the shiver like an insect in the back of her dress gave me the shivers.

Without wanting to insult the culture of Los Angeles (I've never been there myself), I think it's highly ironic that Me-gain had a gospel choir at her wedding, when she has never in her life set foot in that type of church. That speech MM gave for that award she got (one where she was wearing that red pants outfit and had returned to the UK with Harry and said how it felt it’d come “full circle to return to the UK with Harry 🙄)…we’ll that conference did NOT invite her to come participate and give a talk…they didn’t even know who she was! Meghan pulled her usual stunts and badgered, stalked, and pestered a contact he had if he could “ask his agent to get her a spot in the conference schedule” (the agent knew the head of the conference committee or something)…so Meghan had dug all that out and the connections and then purposefully pulled stunts to climb the ladder to get that “Place at the table”. The agent she stalked was actually for a tennis player who was a good friend of the Irish tennis player Rory whom she stalked, bribed, and orchestrated into forming a relationship (while she was with Cory and supposedly they were about to get engaged). So she met Rory’s friend, that tennis player - determined somehow who his agent was - then called the tennis guy up bc he was a “friend of Rory’s” and begged him to ask his agent to get her a speaking spot! Apparently her and the agent met in person at the conference and “hit it off and had so much in common” - anyone else see the pattern yet!?!? She “rebrands” herself each time to be what the person she is manipulating to believe they are BFFs and that she’s so down to earth and “real”. It makes me SICK! She’s a complete fraud and has no personality of her own!

She might as well have said, "I finally snagged a royal."

It’s not just embarrassing behavior to invite cool people you don’t know, it’s Weird! Strange, weird kookoo!

She invited people she wanted filmed for the world to see. Then she had the A listers to the party.

As my father died when I was young, I followed the Finnish tradition and my fiancé and I met at the top of the aisle and started our life together there - walking down the aisle together. We stopped to give presents to our mothers - then stepped up to the alter together. Not that Meghan would have shared the walk down the aisle with Harry. She wanted all eyes only on her. Sadly Meghan had a father that could have walked down the aisle and she didn’t take that opportunity. I would have loved the chance to have a father to walk with me.

The title of this video is perfect. It was a party for Meghan’s new brand. Rumor is that Reese Witherspoon was invited and turned down the invitation because she didn’t know them. I think George and Amal went because Amal is British. She had supported RF initiatives.

As to the guest list, I think she wanted everyone to associate her with the Hollywood crowd, not her family. Yes, she was making connections like Oprah. (She said in the interview that Oprah contacted her before the wedding and she told Oprah she'd have to wait and Meg would let her know when. She was always planning it.) But, how many people all over the world saw all those stars and were like, "Oh, Harry is marrying a star because she knows all those people." It never occurred to most of us that she'd invite people she did not know. I think it upped her credibility having them there. And they thought she knew the other people. It took a bit for people like the Clooneys to distance themselves from them. I think most people assumed she ran with that crowd until we found out otherwise. I think having her family there would have ruined the image.

Another thing about the guest list. Specifically about not inviting Camilla's children for the party. I am sure it was Harry who made the slashing cut in this particular case. And gleefully so. So true! Harry's wife functions from a level that she is creating a movie. She is constantly staging her life to appear the way she wants her audience to see her and she believes the world is her audience. She produces, directs, stage sets, script writes, plots the movie she wants to portray as her life. Also going back to your point about Charles walking Meghan down the aisle in the last video--Why didn't her mother? Rumour is that Meghan wanted to go it alone the whole time and didn't actually want Charles. (She also didn't want Charlotte and George to be in the wedding to begin with.) It's become quite common for both parents to walk a bride down the aisle in the US at least. How progressive would that have looked? She really missed out on some woke points. 😄 And OMG are you me w/ the heavyhandedness of the wedding. I'm a black, liberal, feminist woman, younger than Meghan and I too was going WTF, who are y'all kidding with this?! (Even the inclusion of Ava Maria. Like, what? Who are we repping?) I never bought what Meghan was selling because her supposed values just don't align with what she was signing up to represent in the first place. AT LEAST one of these personas had to be fake.

That minister's sermon went on for 12 minutes and kept repeating 'The power of love!' 'Love!'. It was so annoying. One of my favorite songs is 'Stand By Me' so I loved that part. I agree that none of this represented who Meghan was. None of it. She's been pushing the race card the minute she realized it was a benefit.

I think I've watched a video of her getting out of the car on the wedding day, an older man gave his hand out and she rudely declined it, no?

Diana’s father was highly disabled by a stroke, and could barely make it down the isle. But he was her father, PERIOD.

@Joan Yow Earl John Spencer, Diana's late father, was a close friend of the Royals. He was disabled by a dangerous stroke, but took daily physical therapy to enable him to take Diana down the aisle. Just google that part of their wedding ceremony and you will see how well he perfoemed. There is no comparison to Thomas.

​@Elizabeth Grogan actually there is a parallel. Both men had strokes. Mr Markle also had several heart attacks. Remember Markle was told he couldn't fly to London because of his stent placements. Right after this type of surgery the stents could move out of placement. It's highly dangerous. As a matter of fact you can't have an MRI because the magnets in the machine will pull the metal stents out of place.

I love your assessment of the ceremony. It struck me similarly at the time. I didn't know how much Charles had planned the program vs. Megan. But I distinctly remember thinking Bishop Curry's sermon seemed like it hadn't been vetted- like Megan didn't know him or hadn't even met him before.- just a token preacher from America. He clearly seemed to be relishing the spotlight during his uninspired, rambling sermon. No wonder people were growing bored.
