Ironic that I just saw a post about this figure and the deluxe Jango Fett 12" figure from another account and thought "hmm I wonder if ol' J4 has those?" well now I know.

I got this guy for like $20 at a vintage toy shop like 12 years ago. He was my 12 inch Vader for the longest time and looked really good next to my Hot Toys Anakin (my first ever Hot Toy and I love him!). I recently retired him after I got my Hot Toys Vader for a steal. He now occupies my Darth Vader shelf and his suit has held up after tons of posing. Hasbro really killed it with this one!

The Hasbro 12 line definitely had some gems. I want to track down the 12" Jango Fett but he isn't cheap.

That vader looks ready for baseball.

My dad is from the Cincy area and on a trip back there I got to go to the Toy Department, went thanks to your vids. It truly is the happiest place on earth lol. Almost glad I don't live close cause they'd have all my money

I had two of these as a kid (lost most of the pieces to the first one so I got another) and I never remembered the helmet and gloves being so big lol. It was my favorite toy. Nice trip down memory lane 👌🏽

I had this when I was younger. It was my favorite toy ever and I loved it but then I got introduced to the vintage collection and this got lost somehow though I didn't miss it.

I have something like this, it’s the same scale but not as posable. Only it’s head arms and right hand can move. It makes sound effects and the light saber turns on when you press a button on the arm. The main figure is just Anakin, completely made of plastic, the only part you can remove from Anakin is a rubber waist cape. To transform Anakin into Vader, a bunch of plastic parts; Vader’s robe and life support, the chest plate and cape, and the front and top of Vader’s helmet. When you put on the top of his helmet it does this 30 second-ish transformation and then Vader breathing which you can’t turn off.

I just bought this Anakin at a thrift store. The box was pretty destroyed, and I’m sure I paid too much, but darn it, I had to have it. Anakin and all accessories were there and had never been out of the box. Anakin is displayed now but I’ll probably have fun switching him over to Vader tonight. I’m 50 y.o. and am just starting to play with dolls! Judgement free, people, judgement free 😊

the different size between anakin and vaders hands is acurate he had absolutely huge cybernetics that were really heavy

Yeah I have this figure and both lightsabers are inaccurate. The one that is supposed to be Anikin‘s is actually the first light saber that Darth Vader built after becoming Darth Vader but it is inaccurately painted and the one that is supposed to be Vader’s is accurate aside from it being silver instead of black on the top witch makes it look like Anikin’s AOTC lightsaber but Also the Sabres are different sizes the Vader one is a lot bigger

I got this one new at WDW in 2005 I switched it to Darth Vader and never switched it back to Anakin Skywalker. $15 bucks??! CONGRATS! I paid $50 brand new

A comic book store within like, 5 minutes of me has this thing in box. Didn't think to check the price, though. They also have that 12 Inch Duke from G.I. Joe that opens his mouth and talks when you press his gut.

09:48, was thinking those hands looked extremely similar to the ones on the 1999/2000 Maul and Vader two pack. Main difference being the saber hand was detachable with a peg that looked like wires to simulate the Death Star II battle

I have this figure and he’s awesome. I have a suggestion for making Anakin’s right arm look good. Turn the sleeve inside out, put a little rubber band on the sleeve, put the arm in, turn it back in, and put the tunic and glove back on. His glove rotates freely.

I remember seeing this at the store as a kid back in the day but never ended up getting it. Cool that you got it for $15. Seems to be selling for way more on ebay

Both the helmet and hands are recycled from the 1998 talking Darth Vader Minus the height, I'd say this one of the best 12 inch Darth Vader that Hasbro ever made

Ironically enough, I found an old 2005 rebuild Darth Vader set at Arcade Legacy the other day, and I just found out about this 12 inch set the other day, next thing I know you have a video on it

I could have bought one of these for $10 a few months ago, but decided to wait and it ended up selling. Kinda wish I didn’t wait now. Lmao

I remember finding this figure at goodwill shortly after Revenge of the Sith came out and begging my mom to buy it for me.

When examining your figure's lightsabers, I believe the blade colors are backwards. The one with the peg seems similar to Anakin's Attack of the Clones saber(which was blue), and should probably have the blue blade. The one without the peg is meant to be Vader's saber, and therefore has no peg, and meant for the red blade. Bizzare, I know. The bar of black near the emitter end is the only clue it even could be Vader's. It doesn't look that much like it. That's my theory. Production goof.

That Darth Vader looks like the proportions are messed up on him: 1. Big head. 2. Small chest and arms. 3. Big hands small boots.

hey jayphor i think the reason why the peg is on vaders hilt is cause it is based off anakins ep 2 saber and the other one is a varient of vaders that might help and if the blades compatible on one another that will solve it :)

It may have been better if the Vader suit goes over the anikin figure. I had a Batman figure that was Bruce Wayne and you put the Batman suit over it.

Meh, it's one exception. And Hasbro just focued on making dino toys for kids, while Mattel made them more appealing to adults too.

Jcc2224 thx for replying I guess your right the kids back at the time in 2015 wouldn't really care about the detail on the dinosaur figures as adults just got them to see what hasbro would be like making the jp/jw line so I guess yeah your right my mistake lol I see what ya mean with the Star Wars line from hasbro I guess the black series are still doing well but to be honest none of the hasbro anakin figures really look like anakin only some do but they barely do they look more like someone tried to be anakin for Halloween but failed anyways I see your point now my bad lol great channel great video keep the brilliant work up man.

That looks like my Star Wars the action collection 12 Inch figure of Darth Vader Because I could tell when The Kenner went out of business many years ago And I think at the time in 2005 I think they used the same model as the the older version of the 12-in Darth Vader figure

They did! You can especially tell with the helmet shape, Hasbro re-used the old talking Darth Vader armor for this one.

Also the back of the belt has holes put the lightsaber there connect because all jedi put there hands in the back to get there lightsaber just like getting a wallet in your back pocket

You had the hilts swapped. The hilt that has the peg is Anakin's and the one without is Vader's.

@@Jcc2224 Yeah I saw that, I just wanted to add that. I have a Vader ANH and a Luke ANH (which is the same model of Anakin's ROTS) FX lightsaber hanging at my wall. So the difference between those and the ones that come with the figure is really big.

This is pretty cool, but they might as well have packed a vader figure and anakin figure together lol. They idea was cool, but this looks like a chore, you are basically just assembling a figure from the ground up, and because of that, the proportions are very weird, the hands on vader are wayyyy to big…

This I have to say would be a mixed review for me because of all the downfalls on this. Amazing what they've done here and what they were trying to sell to kids, but honestly I'd just keep him as Anakin. That helmet is terrible in my opinion, the way the hand is, the head popping off so easily, and the pain in the neck process of getting the boots on. Interesting though I'm glad I know this now.

the only thing i hated about these Hasbro was the way over sized hands. those hands throw off the whole figure.
