Mines still Yogscast44- I’ve grown too close to this name. It’s cringy but god damnit! I love it! I didn’t even come up with it tbh, at least that’s what my brother told me. It was just 10 years ago and I was wee lad. Also, I stole this account from my brother, still use his username and my new ones- IcedWolf, GlacierYogs and my personal favorite D44RK_Ice_Yogs.

@Ze Rubenator I choose to remember the funnier moments like Sips singing In the Jungle, and that one video where Tom's audio wasn't working so they edited wacky sound effects whenever he was on screen, I understand that the REDACTEDs were a large part of the older videos, but those videos are still a large part of Yogs nostalgia, so forgive me for remembering them fondly

That's around when I stopped watching Yogs initially, in no small part due to a certain person constantly screaming over everybody else which totally ruined it for me.

As someone studying to be a vet, listening to them spend half of this video talking about what male and female animals are called was so frustrating. I cannot tell you how many times I yelled stuff like "A HORSE IS CALLED A MARE OR A STALLION". It made me want to tear my hair out. 10/10, would watch again. Looking forward to seeing how the Yogs make me scream next time.

A filly is a female horse too young to be called a mare, so they're right in that it would be very creepy to call a woman a filly.

Ironically, I wouldn't get an edgy screenname until later in life because I was worried my parents would ask for my email and find out I wasn't a good ickle lass after all. This, naturally, was a bit silly as they knew damn well I was a bit of a gremlin, and it's only after I stopped giving a damn about anyone else's opinion that I just went with something I thought sounded cool... in my late 20's.

The wetlands Venice was built on were relatively defensible. I imagine it was founded by people who were well fed up with being raided by griefers.

I used to use KenHikage because it sounds like a male name (didn't want people knowing I was a female gamer back then), but in Japanese kind of means "shadow blade."

I was such a geeky nerdy dork when I was a teen, my first internet name was ShadowInTheEast, named after a term used to name Sauron in Lord of the Rings. You know thinking about it, I'm _STILL_ a Geeky Nerdy Dork, and I don't care. 😁🤣

my first internet name was my deadname + name of my favorite baseball team (the cubs) + 7. I got my current name from a random among us lobby that assigned me the name junkmoon, liked it but misremembered the order and went with moonjunk (usually m00njunk)

Osie is so ridiculously good at GTA. You forget about it as they talk, but then you pay attention for a minute and see her crushing it and remember how good she is (and / or how bad the crab crew are). Her only Kryptonite is when it devolves in to everyone using prox bombs and guns and rav gets out to rocket people.

Osie really feels so integrated into what I'd call the core/original small group of the yogscast main channel folk, such a perfect fit

Osie is secretly a stone-cold killer when it comes to racing. GTA fight maps she's kinda Lewis-level, but she races real quiet and real tough.

Lewis' cats name wouldn't be "lewis-cat" clearly it would be Mewis

I got my first job today and just wanted to say thank you to the Yogscast for keeping me happy and laughing with every video they’ve uploaded 🥰🎉

Interesting hearing them talk about animal names and say pussycat is female and "what's a boy one called?". The way I learned it pussycat is an agender reference to any cat, but that there is a male exclusive term "Tomcat". ...Actually, looking it up, female cats are Molly (or "she-cat"). I vaguely recall learning that, but I don't think I've ever heard it used outside of study.

19:50 Duncan weirdly gets closest. Venice was built during the fall of the Roman Empire by refugees escaping the Goths and Lombards burning through mainland Italy, making it essentially an apocalypse town made good.

I guess discord heard them talking about how good a system it is to just stick some numbers behind your name so you can have what you want. They went ahead and removed that for us.

@@Henderson10102 To be fair, the "X of the [cardinal direction]" just implies the specific point is somewhere in - or much further in - that direction, as opposed to the original X being somewhere else. Thing is, Venice is already relatively in the 'north', given it's pretty far above the equator, so Birmingham is comparatively only a little bit further north. But in the context of just Europe, you could definitely call Birmingham 'the Venice of the North', and if you're just calling it 'the Venice of the UK', with no cardinal directions involved, that's fine as well.

@@BalthorYT But "The North" in the UK implies a specific area and, in many ways, a sense of identity for the people within in. That's the same for "The South" and "The Midlands", so the linguistical context is no longer about the direction or relative position and more about the area and group to whom that identifies. Ergo: "The Venice of The North" implies that Birmingham is in what we in the UK define as "The North" of England... which it isn't.

The weirdest kill one of my cats ever brought back was a baby Pitbull. She was an absolute savage that terrorized our street, bringing back multiple kills a week. Even birds and adult goldfish weren't rare.

The main issue I have with my nickname, is not that someone else has already taken it. It's that the site/game/whatever doesn't allow special characters. Meaning I have to use 'SlyeFox' instead, which very often HAS been taken already.

As far as I understand Venice was a coastal town and then the water level Rose and the Venice that we know now is actually yeah some of it is built essentially on stilts but a lot of it is built on the Old Venice you have houses built on houses

The earliest username I can remember having was Brutaka_51...I was a big bionicle fan when I was a kid. Other old ones since include Cripple, FlammableGiraffe, Gossamer, Gaussamer.
