I have female pattern hair loss, (hate the bald word) started when I was 14, now I’m 68, still not got my head around it! 6 years ago I got ovarian cancer and suddenly I felt I had a justification for my hair loss through chemo, how mad is that! I would love to have your confidence even though people can be very ignorant towards you. Good on you for holding your head high You don’t even need make up, your natural good looks and bubbly personality shine through every time, xx

I'm 41, I had a massive brain tumor and I survived! Still walking and talking and working, still a mom of 7 and a wife....my hair is not coming back on one side for the most part. I had been wearing cancer hats up until last month when I started wearing wigs. I'm still processing and accepting this as my new life along with all the comments from friends and family and strangers. I'm open about my wigs, mainly because everybody around me knows that it's not my hair. I hated the way that I looked without wigs because I had hair on half of my head and was bald on the other half. As of last weekend I have shaved all my hair and it feels so good and freeing my husband is still processing and hopeful my hair will come back but my hope is gone. I'm ready to move on. Thank you for your honesty and openness. It helps me to have more confidence and knowing I'm not alone in this is powerful 💪 I hope I can walk out of this house shaved and bald someday.

What a wise inspiration you are. I could listen to you for hours I think - you do NOT talk too much. The makeup tips and products are great - I always wondered if you had false eyelashes or brows, I know some people with alopecia lose all the hair on their bodies. I haven’t yet gone bald, but your strong example helps me in other ways. I had bilateral mastectomies last year because of having BRCA1, and I’m becoming comfortable with going out in public without my prosthetics (they can be uncomfortable in this hit weather). I do physical therapy in a pool, and realized yesterday that the cups in my bathing suit had somehow flipped over - so funny, but I jumped in the pool anyway. I also use a cane because I have a hip that my PT says is a brick. She says some people would go right to surgery, but I’m fine using a cane - after 2 surgeries in a year, I just don’t want to have another one. I will say I miss my hair much more than my boobs. I’m just starting my wig journey. I’m comfortable going out in curly buns and pony tails, but I’m still working on wearing wigs, though with my hair loss progressing they are coming soon. Please keep talking, you are, I’m sure, helping more people than you realize! ❤

What I knew from the first time I saw you was you are an exceptionally beautiful woman. Even though you can't really know someone by watching videos or movies you seem sincerely kind. I am 67 and was diagnosed with systemic lupus and discoid lupus when I was 56 years old. I think I've had lower level autoimmune for a long time. Anyway, hair is falling out. I've tried castor oil packs, diet changes, rosemary, steroid injections into my scalp....... You have been so helpful because I have no natural talent with hair etc. Thank you.

I finally said stop I don't want to ever here you tell me about another thing to grow my hair back. I am fine wearing wigs I don't even rhink about it anymore I love my wigs. There are days when out of no were someone will make your day and say I love your hair. You are gorgeous! I’m 68, have always had thin, baby fine hair. With age often comes thinning hair and I was starting with sucky hair so it went downhill fast. I’ve just started trying wigs and trying to be optimistic that they could help me feel better about myself. I found your channel and I’m a new woman thanks to you! I’m experimenting with styles I’ve never been able to experience due to the above mentioned sucky hair. You have given me the inspiration to own a new look and I love you for that, thank you! If I was your age and looked like you I’d just shave my head, but, those days are long gone. However, I’m closer to the pretty young woman I used to be and more confident with the help of your videos. If people stare at you it’s because you are beautiful, not because you look bad. Just one question… do you wear caps or bands to help keep your wig on?

I have had that same experience and one person was relentless. I think they go onto Wig sites and join them so that they can try and sell their product to women who have lost their hair. There’s so many different things that people sell on Facebook and other social media platforms that they swear is going to be the thing that will change the fact that you’ve lost your hair and make it grow and send pictures and promise you the world even though it’s $300 a month. Just NO!… I’m done. I’m happy with Wigs. I love Wigs.

And REALLY can’t stand people telling me that I’m brave or that they’re going to pray for me! I’m so delighted that you also “embrace your inner alopecian” and go out without a wig when you feel like it. 😊 I do that too, but still working on not feeling self conscious. I wish other women with alopecia would do the same.

Amanda Great commentary on your efforts to get hair back and then let go and accepted the baldness, and you are lovely without hair and with wigs, both. I agree. My hair started to thin and then drastic loss on top of my head. Some women accept thin hair. Me, I did not like it at all. Nothing aged me worse than that and I noticed this when I began to use Chiquel Wigs. It is SO SO easy to look good. I need way less makeup and I never used much anyhow, and the wigs make me younger looking, not old and worn out. My view. I have not shaved my head but with fine hair it is easy to cover with a wig. AMANDA your makeup is sensational. Mind you, you look perfect with none too. A lovely woman, bald without makeup or with wigs and makeup. THANKS SO MUCH. Wendy Alberta

I went full-time into wigs and at my age they make me look younger along with tricky makeup. I do have a dermatologist and use medical-grade serums and cream and LED red light therapy. It does work to keep my skin healthy. Not sad to lose my hair. Who cares. No one knows and often get compliments. So my life is good.

You didn't lose your lashes or brows? I guess it's unpredictable. I used to have the most beautiful eyebrows.

@@chiquelwigs Someone said I had a bald spot on top and I laughed and said they were exaggerating. It wasn't until a web meeting where my camera aimed down at the top, I saw it. It was back behind my bangs.

1970, my teacher wrote on my report card, “Talks too much.” 🤣🤣 My husband agrees! 🤣 Fine, thin, never had much to loose 😏 At 30 yrs Hashi came to live with me. More loss. Early 50’s, I met menopause, more loss 🫣 TrichoTest this year introduced me to my new friend, and the reason for bald spots, androgenic alopecia 🤦🏻‍♀ I’ve tried it all and heard it all. Since May 24 I met my new BF 😍 Alt hair. LOVE your videos! 🥰

Amanda Thank you for this video. I needed this today. You look beautiful without hair or wirh wigs. I understand that people think they are helping with advice to grow are hair back. I think they don't understand we have tried hundreds of ideas. Seen more Dr. then I'd liked to admit to. For me it's my sister who is the worst about always trying to fix my hair loss. I finally said stop I don't want to ever here you tell me about another thing to grow my hair back. I am fine wearing wigs I don't even rhink about it anymore I love my wigs. There are days when out of no were someone will make your day and say I love your hair. Many years ago I would have questioned that kind of statement because I was always thinking someone knew it was a wig. Now I have the confidence to say Thank you and not have that fear. Please keep taking as much as you want. I love all your reviews you have helped me and I am sure so many others!! 🙏💕🌴 I will be checking out this make-up also!
