    You could add a physical ethernet port as an option using LAN8720 or TLK110 chip so it's compatible with ESPHome.

    Hi Voltlog! Super exciting project. The only feature that seems to be missing when compared to commercially available controllers is the ability to control a pump / boiler. Dumb controllers (aka wiring centers) usually just turn the pump output on whenever any of the actuator outputs is high. To make it really useful, that output would need to be implemented with a relay that can either be used in dry contact mode or wired to AC. Of-course it is easy enough to add an external relay to be driven by one of the existing triacs, but an integrated pump controller or an option of replacing one of the output triacs with a relay would be really nice.

    Also another version using isolated inputs so it can be used for lights instead of heating. I use something similar but it's using relays instead of triacs. By using triacs you could also control the dimming for each individual channel.

    Could you dive into the software part? Have you tried wiring in a OLED display? (Thinking using the button to cycle through status of the board etc.) @voltlog

    Your idea of large pads will make soldering more difficult as it will more readily draw heat away from the area where your component meets the pads. You need to have thermals (smaller copper lines to the large copper areas) to allow the pads to heat during soldering. A better idea might be to use physically larger resistors to create a larger area for the resistor itself to radiate heat from. This would also make it easier to solder across a slot milled into the area under the resistor. As pointed out by REMAKE YOUR OHM you have the board space, so maybe go with 1206's?

    Fine now you have a nice DIY Board. But Where is the video about the software? Are you using The Tasmota Thermostat driver or the Simple Thermostat inside Hassio?

    It should be straightforward to have an expansion board with I2C port expanders for additional outputs. Those who want to switch large loads with the board can just use external contactors.

    That's the plan with the I2C expanders, luckily there are a couple which are already supported by Tasmota.

    I have done similar with esp32 and 2 amp ssr relays (because standard relays are clicking noise :)) ) have added modbus adapter for more reliable control vs wifi, but your design is much better and well done. i think this 1.2 amp Triac would be enough for led bulbs and will not blink when turn off, so will be nice if you will add modbus also, thanks

    I have 14 zones in my house, currently using watts system to heat living room already taking up 6 zones, possible to add feature to be able to add extra unit for more zone control?

    With this mix of HomeAssistant & Tasmota plus the hw controller that I built there is no limitation to the number of controllers you can add.

    Because of the whole ecosystem with HomeAssistant being the central processing unit for running the automations, the room thermostats don't need to connect back to the valve board. In my case they are just zigbee temp sensors that report back to HomeAssistant, then the climate automation runs on HomeAssistant and commands the valve board.

    You have the board space
