Just want to say thank you for the great videos you put out. You don't realize what your videos do for people. I used to build all kinds of radicals toys. But I got cancer and I had to stop building toys and now I'm at the point that there is nothing anyone can do for me but try to make me comfortable and if it wasn't for your videos and other awesome people just like you that put this videos out. My last few months would have been alot worse for me. I don't have much time left but what I do will be spent with family and friends and your videos thanks for helping me be able to be strong when I really wasn't. God bless you and all the fab rats family.

I work at a company that makes hydraulic cylinders… I winced when you got that hammer out 😂 you might have gotten lucky, but there’s a good chance you tore an outer seal and pieces of it are now running through your pump… we use an assembly tool, basically a really thin ring compressor and can be made on a lathe. Hope this helps if the cylinder bleeding down under load gets annoying

Spray foam guy and loyal sub here. Try misting with water from a spray bottle. That may kick off better curing. To clean out the shmoo, use gloves and acetone. It will dissolve the uncured chemicals. Do NOT use mountain dew on the foam. It will cause a caustic reaction and send it into the danger zone!!😂😂😂

2:08 LOL I love that --- Hunter is playing da part of da proverbial "parts-retaining parent" here --- i.e., da common scenario whereby one or more children are repairing something in da front or back yard where Mom and/or Dad are sitting close by on a lawn chair to approvingly watch their "willing to get down and dirty" youngsters cheerfully/excitedly performing said maintenance task, and so whenever they remove fasteners and/or other small parts that they don't need right at that moment, they simply scuttle over and give said tiny bits to their parent to hold for safekeeping, and then said caring adult hands back the parts one by one as the children periodically need them for reassembly of the device after their servicing-labors have gotten completed. :D

You also can't just put a huge glob in one place. It cures from the outside in, and once you get a little over an inch of the outer portion cured, it acts as a moisture barrier, preventing the inner portion from curing. You have to apply it in layers, letting it cure between applications. When you hear the nightmare stories about people having problems with spray foam that was installed in their house, it is usually caused by poorly trained (or untrained) contractors taking shortcuts trying to apply the foam in a single layer that is 4 inches or more in thickness.

Hi Paul The foam requires moisture to go off. Before we ever spray expanding foam into a confind space we give it a few sprays of water with a mist head spray bottle. I'm a carbon fiber product manufacturer in New zealand. If you read the data sheet on the foam or talk to the rep they will confirm the need for moisture

Talk about being fantastic! When I open my KZread app on my iPod Pro, on the main screen was The Fab Rats video right here. And quickly I noticed how long it was because here lately, they’ve been producing, 15 to 20 minute videos. Day in. Day out. Over and over and over and I have been saying off and on, please oh please?? 2 PRETTY PLEASE 🙏 please make them longer. So, I guess it boils down to, BEG! AND YE SHALL RECEIVE!! 😊 I Can hardly wait to see the wrecker out on the trail working after it’s finally, finally, FINALLY-FINISHED!!!! In closing, I don’t know of one single other show on KZread that is based upon these kind of dynamics, and pull it off the way all of the people in this family do…… Family off-Roading for fun and making a profit. And the interpersonal workings and dynamics of all the family members and the way they mesh, so fluidly. And I watch as far as I know all of the other shows that are interconnected. Like Matt‘s off-Road Recovery / Rory’s TrailMater / Casey Ladelle / etc etc. this one is my all-time favorite show!!!!

To share a stuck truck story. My dad is a trucker and at one point the company he worked for was hauling gravel to a local monastery for a construction project they were doing. My dad hauled several loads to them and one of his coworkers who went by the handle Big D was also hauling to them. My dad left to go grab another load as Big D was coming in to dump one up on the hill where the monastery is located. My dad got about half way to the quarry when he got a call from Big D because he was freaked out because he got stuck in the mud and the Russian Orthodox monks were gathered around chanting, trying to pray the truck out the mud. My dad who is also a Baptist preacher turned around and went and pulled him out and then told us about it while laughing as soon as he came home.

Paul you hit the nail on the head with the foam it will not set up and less as air. After reading a few comments maybe some moisture will help too.

If you really wanted to add a subwoofer in the cab could put it up front and center of the shifters and tucked parcially under the dash. Would just have to make a custom box which could also be a good place to tuck some of the wires that were ran for the sound system or tuck the amp in with the box so the amp is not seen. Awesome build! love seeing the progress of this thing!

That gooey spray foam could expel hazardous fumes into the cab, if the correct mix percentages were not reached during installation. The only fix I'm aware of is to remove it all, and start over. There's plenty of documentation of people getting very sick from being exposed to those fumes,, especially if it gets warmed up. The canisters need to be within a certain temperature range during installation, to insure a correct mix. Love your content and delivery. Much respect.

I was actually expecting that foam to be that way inside the door. You basically just took the foam out of the can and put it into another "can". The deep inside was starved of oxygen and water - which are the two things the foam requires to cure. Now that you exposed it - it will now cure. This is why foam is applied in stages.

Holy crap!!! That concrete pumper. That is what I work on!!! That probably came from the shop I work in!! They are very expensive units. They are produced just North of me at Schwing Concrete pumping. More than likely I set the parameters and other programming. It was nice to see at your house. I hope it worked out okay!!

Out of all the boom, booms I think yours is the best overall adjustability to vehicle type and terrain changes, Mattmans is too short, Rory's is too steep, Pauls is just right. The three bears😊

I worked for a company that made manholes about 45 years ago. Like a dummy I worked in the same shoes for a week. They were not work boots. By Friday my feet were done and so was that job. Chemical burns from concrete. It took about two weeks before my feet felt decent. I learned my lesson the hard way.

I worked it the hydraulic industry for over 25 years, have done countless cylinder repairs. The longest telescoping boom cylinders I rebuilt had an 18 foot stroke, it was interesting to say the least. Your cylinder is just a tiny one.

Paul you should have hooked that cylinder up to the system and check to see that it works and not leaks on you could have saved some work if it did leak

You only need your rebar to be in a 2ft grid, so you guys have double the rebar that is needed. So you definitely have an overbuilt floor with that much rebar-- which is not a bad thing. :)

Foam: ... a few possible causes ... Seam Sealer( or any High VOC Caulking) will stop foam from curing. Not shaking the can enough before use will make it not cure. Old cans (over a year old) tend not to cure properly. Mixing brands can cause reactions and it may not cure. Another Great episode! Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
