That's what it is in Indiana as well. It's absurd. Well, it might have gone up to like $7.68... but I know for a fact that it is less than $8 an hour. It's crazy for sure.

I agree fully and completely. An individual, let alone a family cannot live a decent life on minimum wage. And politicians are looking for ways to deny people and families benefits, but they get theirs.

Chronic stress in children also leads to life-span health issues - look at the ACEs study. The individual and intergenerational trauma affect individuals, families and communities. If you don't raise healthy children, you can't have optimally healthy adults, families or communities.

The only way to get these politicians attention is to take away their permanent privileges.

We spend our money on weapons to defend other countries. They live better than we do in Europe. Bull with that. We are not an Empire. Heck with religious wars, etc. Ukraine wars against each other are endless. Like Israel. No wars against Iran either. Let the Pope and Israelis pay for their own oppression. I want the Catholic church banned in AMERICA for forcing their religious agenda on American women. Remove all federal tax exemption and private school monies. Ban their dark money organizations.

Did you know that low-income people in America can go to community college at virtually no cost to themselves? And State universities have many programs to alleviate the costs for low-income individuals.

You are so right Alicia! about the 'psychological' cost! I Worry about now losing my SS after 8 years on it! Losing my Housing Voucher, my food stamps; bottom line, i no longer wake up caring if i live thru another day, or not! I'd sure rather die sooner than EVER having to exist on the streets!

I pay 50% of my social security and a very small pension for AFFORDABLE housing. It's unaffordable! We fight for a minimum wage of $15/hour but with the costs of energy and food, not to mention health care and other expenses, $15/hour is nolonger a living wage and still some think that's too much. I just do not understand the cruelty that is so commonplace in this country. The callousness that grows and thrives in our society is shameful. People pray but do absolutely nothing to make this a moral society that cares for human life. If you have enough conscience to pray for a better life for our people then your have enough to actually do something about conditions that tug at your heart. Join a social justice organization. Work for change, be the change you want. Get off the sofa!

The Ruling Class is fine with people dying from poverty and lack of health care. Doesn't bother them a bit. Their concern is maintaining and growing their own wealth, status and power. That's easy for them to do because they can buy as many legislators and officials they need to make sure that laws and regulations are tailored to keep our Rulers comfortable and safe from the riffraff (that's usn's). Too bad most of We The People can't seem to figure that out.

Reverend Barber is always so clear about how screwed up all this chit is! For me personally, as of March 11, i will no longer be any better off than i was under dt! Because my xtra federal aid for food stamps has now ended! And not getting Expanded Medicare in that BBB, means that i've been living with a hole in my tooth for 2 years, which is also deteriorating into sharp edges that are cutting into my tongue every day! I was sooooo hoping that would pass! All i got was 1K per YEAR! & that won't get them to do near what i need, because of an exposed nerve, so a regular filling isn't viable!

We have a big problem with big corp gouging prices we need them stopped. Landlords are gouging we need them stopped. The times we live in is a greedy time look how they gouged eggs Thier gouging meat too and vegetables on top of gouging they are heavily packaging products to get more money they hide quantities under labels to rip you off we've got to come down on big corp or we simply can't afford to live and when that happens the people will rise in discust and anger on Thier government that betrayed them.
