I stand in solidarity with Bishop Barber! The staff of AMC is a disgrace. The police were worse. They should have come in, assessed the situation and apologized to Bishop and then told the staff to never call them for such ignorance! The AMC staff should have been removed! It's a shame that this kind of treatment continues to happen. Did they give Bishop his money back? Thank you Bishop for standing up and for putting this horrible experience out there for the world to see. NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE! We all have to learn how to treat all people with respect. We need to listen to people. We need to stop judging others. When will the madness stop?!

Rev. Barber said that he has meetings with both the police chief and the CEO of AMC theaters, separately. He said his goal in meeting with the police chief is to develop policies in which the police refuse to do the bidding of people when it is against ADA law. So, yes, what you're saying is exactly what Rev. Barber intends to achieve. And then, with the CEO, to enact policies, trainings, etc to ensure that none of the 10,000 theaters would ever violate ADA law again. And I would add, if those managers were power tripping on Rev Barber as they clearly were, then how much more horrible are they to regular customers? This I believe will break open a whole new chapter in equality. (And I think those particular managers should be fired because in my experience people that deeply ingrained as power abusers should never be trusted with power again-- they won't stop, just find new ways to do it on the sly.)

We're going down hill fast, no one has a heart to care for one another until it happened to them or their family's. Yes Rev. Barber i know what you're going through, been there and has seen tremendous of people going through the battle of being in pain. We should come together and acknowledge all of our people that are suffering and going through this ordeal, I'm worry about our people that choose money over people instead of love.

ADA! The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in everyday activities. The ADA prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability just as other civil rights laws prohibit discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, age, and religion. The ADA guarantees that people with disabilities have the same opportunities as everyone else to enjoy employment opportunities, purchase goods and services, and participate in state and local government programs.

This man of God is handsome, brilliant, and powerful. This professor and reverend blew me away with how wise and gracious he handled the situation and his 90 year old mother, Wow! Another brilliant power house. I pray that God fully delivers him, heals, him and makes him whole. The level of insensitivity and arrogance of some people. What did the 2 staff member feel they had to gain by doing this? I pray that the consequences for them are severe.

I don't understand how AMC Theatres allow the two individuals to become managers. They allowed them to represent and lead AMC Theatres ignorantly and dangerously. Where is the responsibility for serving all patrons period?

I'm so glad he making a big deal about it because it is a big deal and hes putting in the work for the rest of us who don't have a voice. We are tired of being bullied around and having people threaten us with the police just for fucking existing! And we need more from the government to protect us out here. Simply telling everyone white terrorism is a threat isn't enough!

This hurt me to hear. I am praying for you, Bishop Barber. Many Individuals may not know there’s an ADA Law that covers disabled people's accommodation. But empathy can help us all treat each other with humanity.

Much respect to you Dr Barber we are going into the year 2024 and still there seems to be so little respect for our brothers and sisters nothing seems to change for the better. Please forgive my next few words hopefully they are not to mean spirited. The staff at AMC theater where Dr Barber was? They need to be fired there is no excuse you don’t need special training to show respect and kindness to people. One more thing write this brother a check with an apology, an apology not a prepared statement but an apology from the heart. I pray for our brother in Christ. Thank you Dr Barber for all you do much respect to you sir
