It’s not even only about abortion. That’s just one aspect, which is why we really need to speak on this primarily as “Women’s rights” and “Reproductive Rights” or “Reproductive Freedom”. You can have a woman who doesn’t have any thought of having an abortion, ever, who has an ectopic pregnancy and needs to have an emergency procedure done to save her life and her future ability to reproduce. Is she and her doctor supposed to just let her lie around (in excruciating pain) and then possibly become septic and die?
