The story of Emile finding the car - • I found my dad's Toyot...
Emile Bouret (IG: @ebouret) found the owner of his Dad's Toyota 2000GT a couple years ago and was promised the chance to see and drive the car, which is now worth about $1 million dollars. It took some coordination but it finally happened. Here's the story.

Or he could of just given it to him, he lives in a castle and has what, at the minimum 60-79 cars? However, exactly how you and me think is why we are not rich. Apparently you have to be someone who can hear one of the most amazing/touching stores of your lifetime, and take a year to even let the man drive his dad's car. He's old, and he's going to die soon anyway. Could of given it to the young buck to enjoy and remember his dad by. Absolutely absurd. That is what it takes to get that rich though, a heart of stone and not giving a shit about anything. Highly doubt he did it for him, he clearly did it for himself so he could feel good about himself like he did his good deed for the decade.

The 2000GT (and Mazda Cosmo) have always been at the very top of my dream-car list. I was fortunate enough to eventually drive the 2000GT as well, and I'm nearly certain it was your Dad's car, Emile. The line of copies it sat between was almost incomprehensible - I couldn't believe it. After the owner rejected my request to drive the Shelby version, I'm pretty sure I drove your Dad's old car. I'll forever be thankful to the owner. He made a life-long dream come true.

On the journey to 100k miles the GT3 has just reached 27k, it would certainly be in to 30k by now if it wasn’t for a lack of events this year but it’s been through plenty of track days and road trips with 4 days at the Nurburgring during the hottest days on record! The only issues I’ve had so far on this journey are a split CV boot (rubber seal) on the axle which was put down to general wear and tear pushed further by the extreme heat of the Nurburgring session. I also had a parking brake light that remained on even when the parking brake was off 🤷🏻‍♂️ both have been easy fixes and under warranty. Consumables have been one set of brake pads at around the 23k mark which included the 4 days at the ring in that heat which is pretty good I think considering the additional heavy use 👍🏻 Tyres, I’ve been through 2 sets of @michelin Cup2 but one complete set was used just in those 4 days at the ring. So far so good! The more time you spend in a car, particularly a manual driver focused car such as the GT3, the more you begin to learn the nuances that make up the characteristics of it - and this one is loosening up nicely and picking up some great memories along the way! . Where to next with the GT3?

I don't know how long I waited for this episode to come out but finally I saw it today after wondering what happened to the story yesterday. Man, the Toyota 2000gt. What a story, like Emille said, how a conversation lead him to driving his dad's old Toyota. Really there are some bits of miracle in people. Crazy to think how it all comes about, just from one interaction you could go back to the toddler version of you. What a gentleman 'the pope'.

Beautiful story! Literally a tear jerker at the end! Just thinking what the moments were like when he was driving his dad’s car! I love cars and I truly believe that this car is the most beautiful car ever!

@@sortofchris yh the story goes from what I heard the former owner had it and he loved the car but he was caught up between 3 women and one of those women's brother destroyed the front half with a semi truck almost clean cut in half. Also to rub salt in the wound he was then later arrested for drugs, money laundering and fraud.

Glad he persisted and got the shot without pissing the guy off, as what are the chances that a japanease supercar made in the late 60's, that is probably made with an all Lacquer and no gloss coat paintjob with no primer, not only survived to the modern day despite living in puerto rico, but also is now perfectly preserved, and in good caring hands that use it and the owner was cool, and let you drive it.
