Thank you for making this video and sharing with us. I also took a trip to my childhood home in north central WI where I lived from the age of 2 until 11. This building was a 1 room school house that my Dad went to school in and he remodeled this into a home for us. I remember living in the basement for a few years while he was doing the work upstairs, proceeding when finances became available. Going back was both good and bad. I was able to share with my wife some of the memories, yet it was sad to see some of the changes that were made, many of the changes had memories attached to them.Thanks again.

Hi Mac, I do appreciate you sharing this video and your reactions. I would encourage you not to be sad about the fact that the home that you remember has changed. Change is the only constant in life. You must expect that a place that you are returning to after 50 years will have changed. You still have your memories and those are unchanged. You did get to return to the same place and see how it has changed. You are able to remember how it was. However, now another family lives there and is creating their memories. Your visit to the school and the train which were less changed also brought back good memories. I have a number of years on you and I can tell you that as you get older it can sometimes be harder to see change as a good thing. Continue to celebrate your memories!

@tom81773 Thank you, Tom. Deep down, I knew change was inevitable after 51 years. I was seeking a spark of overwhelming joy and happiness. You are correct. Change is a fact of life, and memories will always be in my mind. I guess I wanted those memories validated. Life is good, and I have been blessed. Thank you for your response and support. Now, I can move on to more entertaining videos.

Thanks for sharing this. It's a neat thing to go back and check on things. A couple of weeks ago, I drove my Mom by a home we lived in when I was just 9 years old. She couldn't believe it. Enjoy all the positive memories. The "pond" must have been a good play spot!

@MarksGarage17 The pond was the size of a great lake when I was a child. Fishing, Frog Gigging, Turtle Hunting, and Ice Walking. That was the spot. Thanks for responding, Mark.

I have very similar memories... what nav were you using in this video? time sure changes things. So glad you got to experience this and capture it for your kids and grandkids. What great stories about when you were young. My grandmother's house, where we had so many fond memories of Christmases etc..was so changed I drove by it 5 times before barely recognizing it. Hi Mac, this was a touching video and I am glad you decided to share it with us. After making a similar trip last year I understand your feelings. Out childhoods were filled with innocence, excitement, adventure and a solid home that we figured would be there, unchanged forever. In many ways it still is but not in wood and bricks. Hang on to the memories and share your story with family and friends. Your childhood has shaped you into the person you are today. Ride Safe my friend. The Road is Long.

Yes, the bike feels a little top-heavy in slow turns. The electric suspension is nice for quick adjustments. That's about all I really noticed.
