I still remember that jingle. Hill's used to devote almost the entire back half of store to toys for the holidays. Back then it was about the only place (other than the Sears catalog) that had every toy there was.

This was originally built as a Grant's department store.

I thought that the entrance near the café looked more like a grocery store entrance than a department store entrance. Then I found comments stating that the building started out as a Grant's. Now that set of doors makes sense: they probably were to a grocery/food area and never updated from the '60s!

I remember seeing that sign in front of the K Cafe in the first video you did on this KMart.

I live a few minutes away they tore it down and moved the Aldi’s to where the Kmart was

Outlasted the former Grants location where I grew up (1976-1995), and it had a full service restaurant just like this did too.

It's really depressing to see Kmart close for good. They were the last of the stores that I remember my mom going there and buying me gi joe and masters of the universe toys. 😢

Wow, so sad that these old KMART buildings keep sitting empty. There is a bit of good news, I just got word that the Kmart building here in Richfield Utah that closed back just spring of 2016 (built 1981) got bought by Jorgensen Honda getting expanded into a 4 wheel showroom. Ross was going to buy the building but fell through, there was talk of even relocating my public library (where I work) into the building but we already own the very vintage building we are in now. Great shirt btw! ;)
