"After decades of believing that we’d never see Gilbert get to make his Monkey Island 3, I was in no way disappointed with Return’s conclusion. In fact, it moved me, and made clear that Gilbert cares as much about these characters as we fans do. I expected Return to Monkey Island to be funny. I expected it to have good and often-zany puzzles and hilarious puzzle solutions. You can see that in its writing, its acquired-taste art style, and its delightfully upbeat music. But I didn’t expect it to have such heart. Monkey Island has been known almost solely for its comedic prowess over the past three decades, but Return reminded me of why I first fell in love with Guybrush Threepwood in a way that will have me thinking about it for a long time. What longtime fans get out of it is definitely going to be markedly different from what newcomers take away from it, but I can say that Return to Monkey Island meant a lot to me before I ever clicked to start a New Game, and it meant far more after the end credits rolled."

Such a great game! Ron Gilbert really made a near perfect follow up. I'm genuinely impressed.
Lucasart should bring to switch all the series, including the Indiana jones one
My only problem with this art style.. are the dot eyes.. arghh! normal eyes would have made such a huge difference 😅

I've read that, while the game continues from the second one, it does consider the events of the following games sort of canon, aka they did happen, but except from some nods and Murray they're not relevant to the story of this game

Hmmm in which way does it continue after the second? It starts to smartly bridge from the second but they there is a time jump and as the scrap book explains all games it seems to me that it continues after tales

There was a tiny bit of reverb on the voice, but it was totally clear and understandable which is all that matters for something informational.

You don't have to, but most of the characters are from the previous games so you may miss the odd nostalgic joke. I'd say watch a recap vid on KZread and you should be fine :) Basically Guybrush is hero pirate, Elaine is his girlfriend, LeChuck is evil ghost pirate and then secondary characters like Stan the former used ship salesman, Murray the talking skull and Wally the cartographer are the main ones.

There's a recap option in the main menu if you want an extremely abridged overview of all the previous games
Just make these games more available. It's ridiculous what people are selling the original series for. Re-release them all.
This better come out on other systems asap!!!
Masterclass. Puzzles are well designed - some are hard without being illogical or obtuse.
Loved the original games, and hopefully this will be a hit with the new generation, although I’m not really drawn to it!

My only issue so far, is the change of LeChucks voice actor, it isn't quite the same. Earl Boen retired
I'm digging everything about it so far except for Guybrush's face design!! They kinda dropped the ball on that one. Otherwise the art style has grown on me.

If you reach the side of your screen there should be some speakers, turn the volume down. If you have a newer computer you can do some right from your home screen. Hope that helps!

Just finished it, and final verdict... actually abit disappointed. Just felt every was rushed, people/plots forgotten, about especially at the end. Real shame
