Great video, super inspiring. I was thinking to myself that this some beautiful footage, but what about showing what can go wrong on an outing like this and then you had a flat tire. Again, great video...in my humble (but highly accurate) opinion, you put out the best content on the world wide webs. Keep up the great work Rob!

for future reference, you can always TRY and get a sidewall puncture patched if its close to the tread. most shops wont do it for liability reasons but ive fixed 2 with a large inner mushroom patch and proper bonding procedures, they both lasted the usable life of the tread/tire. saved big money at the same time.

Excellent storytelling through brilliant editing and cinematography.👍 Loving your drone footage. Unlike many, you know how to use it for maximum impact.👌 Your new colour scheme (baby blue & orange) reminds me of the Gulf racing livery.😁 FYI...you'll probably find your punctured tyre is repairable if you have a tyre repair kit. Repair it enough to continue using it offroad, until you're able to replace it. Saving your spare in case you experience a worst tyre damange. I've experienced a sidewall gash longer that yours, and was able to repair it using multiple plugs. The tyre didn't even have to come off the vehicle. The repair more than held up to continue 4WDing, only swapping it for my spare once back on the bitumen.

I agree that it'll probably be repairable enough to get me back to the road. I've got to drive 2,400 miles home in a couple of weeks though, and definitely wouldn't trust it at 80mph!

Some wonderful footage. This channel inspires me to wander more than any others. I had a question about the new Tundra, can this beast make through the tights of the trails? How does the weight play out, I hear this is a 6500# to start with? How much gas does it take on average? Appreciate if you would consider replying.

I noticed that you got the front bumper installed after getting the truck wrapped. I always that that this might mess up the wrap since the bumper installation requires cutting part of the body. Is the wrap still holding up in that area? Does anyone else have any insight on this?

I don’t have a spare yet, just a tire repair kit but seeing your sidewall damage has me thinking I need a spare when I start getting back on the road. I bet a 37” wont fit underneath the truck will it? I probably need to get the wescott designs tow hitch mounted tire carrier for now.

  • @RevereOverland

Initially it was because it was on a lower rack, and the higher end lined up with the roofline, making it more aerodynamic to have it backwards. I ended up just sticking with it! Even now, it's probably slightly more aerodynamic backwards since teardrops are the best shape.
