Just a great band. Good recording to. I stood on stage behind Lenny White in Guildford England at around this time when they played this and were promoting "Where Have I Known You Before". Great times back then. Thanks for posting this wonder.

Very simply put, Bobby. I couldn't agree more. From the time I was introduced to the band 41 years ago, they were then, and remain my favorite band of all time. Their level of excellence is unmatched. Creative, complex, and alway's exciting!! Cheers from Leamington, Canada.

a musicians band at its best that means other musicians listen to them to be entertained and that takes alot. An example is like when Hendrix went to England. they knew right away what they were dealing with and I know what I am dealing with here. Genius

I was lucky to see every tour in the 70's also. The "Where have I known you before" tour was hands down the best concert I've ever attended, and I've attended well over a thousand. No Mystery and Romantic Warrior were both in the top 10 concerts. This band changed the way I hear music to this day.

He's less inclined to play electric as much because of the toll it takes on his hearing. But he, Lenny, and Stanley may actually get together to do some Return to Forever tunes in the near future....

He played Dallas in January 2024, all electric, fantastic show. He had a heart attack in September, but sounded great playing his black Les Paul that he hadn’t touched since like 1974. My personal best showing of him. I agree the acoustic is great but the black Les Paul is fantastic.

This is good, though the original, and the whole album it's from, has a special place in my heart. I live in Japan, and can't help but to notice that Japanese Jazz pianists seem to be more influenced by Chick than Herbie (thinking particularly of Hiromi Uehara and Makoto Ozone here). But as I age, I find myself listening to more Herbie than Chick. This was a great line-up ... but I especially like him with Airto and Flora, maybe because I prefer the Brazilian tinge to the Spanish. 🤔

C O AGREED! If you've heard one DiMeola Guitar solo, you've heard 'em all! YAWN! Quote by BILL CONNORS ~ "I don't have a huge ego, but it still hurt when people would tell me that I must've listened to a lot of Al DiMeola. I was robbed of my identity, that my Guitar was like a credit card that had been stolen and I'd been left to play the bill." I recommend a track by Jazz Trombonist Julian Priester/Pepo Mtoto called "PROLOGUE/LOVE, LOVE" which was featured on Priester's solo album called "LOVE, LOVE" which was released on the ECM Label in 1973. BILL CONNORS solos on his Gibson Les Paul Standard for a little more than 2 minutes. Connors solos between 8:38~11:02. Bill's solo is more Free Form and his phrasing is out of this world! The track clocks in at 19:25. It's cool funk vamp. The track is on KZread!
