Return of the King vs Army of Thror/Iron Hills 600pt MESBG Battle Report
The dwarves dug too deep and too greedily and found... ghosts and a sweaty old man waving a sword. This week we see the tough, armoured dwarves fight aragorn and his ghosty boys, rendering their high defence somewhat moot. Will Aragorn reclaim the kingdom he definitely wants? Will Dain get super angry and headbutt any spooky bois? Has Stephen falled out of love with elves? Okay that last one was a bit silly.

Looks like you guys may have forgotten about dains 'iron hills dwarves within 12" auto pass courage tests' special rule here. And also headbutt, though to be fair everyone forgets that.

I started with Return of the King LL. Literally played almost this exact game with a buddy in my gaming group also running Iron Hills on the same scenario. Our game ended up with a win for RotK. So yeah, can confirm, it is very survivable and forgiving.

Its a very forgiving and straightforward army to introduce players to the game. I still believe it can perform in tournaments with experienced players. - Josh

I genuinely believe that 3D prints make getting terrain much easier nowadays. Lots of great sellers on Etsy and eBay. We just so happen to have a great local game store that stocks lovely terrain for us to play with. Thanks for the kind words - Josh

@@anyheroics I hear you, it is a lot of time and energy. I just think your channel has a USP with having the highest ranked new player in the GBHL, doing a tournament journey mini series could be interesting. My opinion means nothing, so feel free to ignore it completely.

How did you do the bases for the grim hammers?
Maybe I'm missing something. If Aragorn was F10 ( you cant go above) and feinting, that reduces him to F5 so Thror would be above on F6

feinting reduces your F by d3 so lowest would be down to 7..

Thor doesn't have Defence, which is weird because young thorin and Thrain have it. but otherwise a great batrep.

@@anyheroics Just rechecked and yeah he has strike, strength and challenge. Unlike Thrain and Thorin, i think they believed D9 and the ability to shield along with the 4+ arkenstone free fate made him survivable enough. Didn't take into account Aragorns magic beatstick.🤣
