Cable TV in the 80s was a goldmine of weirdness and discovery.

RIP Dick Durock You Made Swamp thing a larger than life character in many of our hearts.

I remember....mid 1980s....and I waited for a new issue to come in the mailbox in a bown paper sleeve. The early Alan Moore issues.... Gothic Horror stuff. Met him at a comic con and had him sign issue 21. Loved the old Berni Wrightson stuff though. The Swamp Thing title got me started collecting comics!

The fight scenes were really underrated'/!!!

I love his curt nod there as the music starts up. "Yeah, this is happening. Just roll with it."

Smartest thing ever, putting CCR's Born On The Bayou mixed with scenes of the comic books. Just like how Black Sabbath's Iron Man was used in Robert Downey Jr's movie. This intro makes mw wish I seen this in theaters.

They Did it with the Flash Gordan Movie; so , it's not that original! However , it is an intro I love.

I love the intro for this movie,showing all the comic adventures and every time I hear that song from CCR,I think of this intro. I sure do hope they come out with a 3rd Swamp thing movie someday,he's long overdue for that. And of course here's to you Mr.Durock RIP.

As a kid, I was convinced that this song was written specifically for Swampthing. I am also going to get a tattoo on my left arm of Swampthing walking through knee deep water, and it's going to say "Born on a Bayou" in a wavey font style on the water in front of him. This intro gave me all the confidence I'll ever need for life, can't wait for the new tv series!!!!

Love the music, hard too believe Dick Durrock is gone, he'll always be Swampthing, and the evil hulk creature on the Incredible Hulk episode, The First.

This brings me back to my childhood. Thank goodness for KZread.

Was 12 when I first saw this movie in 1990 on showtime ..always loved the intro ..would rewind the vcr a couple times

Return of Swamp Thing: The BEST kind of sequelitis.

I'm a life long Swamp Thing can, and while I think this movie is brain dead fun, this is probably one of the coolest parts of the film!

Too bad the series on the DC channel didn't last long!

This intro was my first introduction to Creedance Clearwater Revival. Since then, Born on the Bayou has always been my favorite song of theirs and i will always think of this intro, every time i hear that song.

This still rocks so hard. I love you Marvel but you haven't made an intro quite this good yet.

I remember seeing it on HBO as a kid and the intro blew me away. Something made me look it up on here and it was just as good as it was back in 90'.

I like this movie. but, I think this may have been the most entertaining and enjoyable part of the whole movie!!!.

This was, remarkably, the first time I'd gotten to hear this great old Creedence song in full (or nearly), when I saw it over 30 years ago. So . . . thanks, Swamp Thing.

This was directed by Jim Wynorski. He directs those Busty Cops,and softcore porn parodys you see on Cinemax.

I saw this intro when I was a kid and that is when i knew I wanted to be an artist when I grew up. Now I am. Those covers are awesome.

Love the illustration at 1:27 it's like a lynch mob wants to kill the little girl, and Swamp Thing is like "uh, not happening" !!!

Just putting it out there. For those that have not read the Swamp Thing comics, you don't know what you r missing. Particularly the Alan Moore series, drawn by the ultra detailed John Totleben. Trust me, it was just like reading through disturbing, compelling horror movie, but only better because it was gold in your hands.

1:10 to 1:15 Arkham easter egg was anyone else surprised by that?

Paul Velasquez it's really cool because Arkham Asylum was used in Alan Moore's Saga of the Swamp Thing, which is naturally considered to have the best Swamp Thing stories by far.

Haha pretty good yet funny movie, I think I've seen it about 300 times, used to watch it when I was skipping school, it was always on HBO. Oh yeah and Heather Locklear was and I think still is fucking hot.

The only really interesting thing about that generic ass sequel, frankly.

This does foreshadow the that the MCU does things in their movies.

Yea before Thor we got Swamp thing ... return.

And now I've seen the series again after 25 years, also starring Dick Durock, and my mind is once again blown.

Still amazed

i always kinda dug swampys strangely upbeat attitude in this one. he must have gone to a motivational speaker between the first film and this sequel, lol:)

2:25 Green Lantern reference. Awesome intro. The song fits. They've gotta do a reboot flick in the DCCU. The time is right and you can reference these characters bc they all have encountered Swamp Thing. He's a part of the DCU.

I'm sure DC could do a good job with Swamp Thing now. But the question is, who could play Alec as well as voice him when he becomes part of the Green. One thing that is epic in the intro is all the comic panels. Also, rest in peace, Dick Durock. You were pretty cool as Swamp Thing. :)

So great they used the original song and not some cheesy cover. NO one can do that better than John Fogerty (CCR)

I think they did it, what, some 2, 3 months ago? And his return was glorious. It took time, and yes, the Abby/Alec thing got a little stupid at some bits, but Swamp Thing returned, and he's as amazing as ever.

I remember this movie when I was a kid. I loved it because I thought it was awesome. Now, I've grown up... and still think it's awesome (albeit in a terrible way).

Incidentally, if you're not already following it, Scott Snyder has definitely done Swamp Thing justice, IMO. Brilliant stuff he's written.

My grandpa got me the comic, after we were descended upon by a biker gang we were defenseless. Swamp Thing toasted Britain a movie grandpa started in. Swamp Thing my clan I guess, but they inhabited them first more compatible. Macs almost gone

Hate me all you like. But I think this movie totally beat the original. Swamp Thing was portrayed better, looked better, and the movie was just kick ass. Don't get me wrong, the original's a classic. But I like this one better.
