don't forget you're also missing out on super sparks by doing the skip. Port town skyway is so good that I honestly don't think it's worth it unless you're front running. But I'm a Goose player fyi

literally this. im a constantly frontrunning golden fox that accidentally figured out the Port Town rampskip in practice after watching someone else do the White Land 1 version back right when queen league just dropped. it's only really ever good if you're trying to shave time off in practice. after employing this tactic for weeks trying to make it work since then, ive also (as kinda 'no-lifey' as this sounds) marked statistics. more than 60% of the time i did it, the other people racing normally were already ahead of me by time i was teleported back. on top of that, whenever i successfully did it each round and remained in front, it didnt matter because (as you said) i missed most of the super sparks. unless you're many seconds ahead of everyone, you're probably not going to win. most of the game is *really* played in the last two laps, after youve collected tons of super sparks and can use them to gain heavy advantages, ESPECIALLY on Port Town. using this tactic, you still get passed by people with perfect skyway placements incredibly often. TL;DR -- racing normally, taking advantage of the skyway, and constantly searching for KOs will always get you further than doing this skip.

@@oatmealformana Doesn't sound like you were doing the skip right. If you can see 1st place ahead of you reaching the 2nd jump pad around the same time you reach the first jump pad for the skip and do it optimally, you should be placed ahead of them once the penalty ship drops you off. Racing normally is way riskier than using the skip and you have a decent shot at beating those who do it every lap. But players who use the skip opportunistically will still come out on top. 1st lap and last lap skip are almost always good if you have the life for it. 2nd and 3rd lap skip are way riskier though.

You should use the boost right before the ramp so you can be closer to banking and afterwards you may have a little boost back the will gain your speed at no additional cost

Something you didn't go over is that when you make it across, you want to start slowing down. Meaning land with a hard landing and hold the brake. This is because the penalty ship doesn't start dragging you back to the reset point until your car's speed reaches 0. Until you reach 0, it will hold you in place drifting in whatever direction momentum was carrying you in. The perfect skip involves a mix of being as close to the reset point as possible AND getting to 0 km/h as soon as possible. Of course, this makes things even trickier. Slow down too much and you might get picked up before you can bounce off the guard rail and thus you'll drift further away before being pulled over. Though this isn't really a problem with the faster cars or boosted cars.

I started 2 days ago and I feel i am at a disadvantage against all those golden foxes in front that played for the last month. I saw people doing this skip and tested it but couldnt it get to work to my advantage. With this guide ill maybe able to get the win for blue falcon done wihout it taking ages. Thanks for the guide!

if you're looking for a win, wild goose is a pretty good one to get a win with, it's all about holding on to your boost and letting the skyway help you catch up, generally it's something like boost twice on the first lap, use skyway on second lap, use you boost to stay in about the top 20 on lap 3, use skyway and whatever boost you have left in final lap to try and slingshot to 1st, i'd recoomend looking up a guide on what are the best places to skyway on every map because your skyway timing definitely helps a lot, oh yeah and if you see some grey bumbers while in the middle of the pack don't be afraid to spin into one to see if you can get a KO out of it

@@thematthew4324 Thanks for the tip! I am looking for a win for every vehicle. I want to get every skin unlocked and A regular win for every car is my first goal before i go for grand prix wins^^ When i get the blue falcon done i will do the goose next.

@@rayrafletsplaypiano7331 i'm still looking for a win with every car, for the life of me i can't get one with fire stingray even though i know it's possible, this is weird to say but for me it's easier to get a grand prix win with wild goose than it is to get any kind of win with fire stingray, but i know that's not the case for other people

@@thematthew4324I only played blue falcon until now except in training. I think the other 3 would be way better suited for me, but now i am too stubborn to switch before i didnt get my damn win with this car . I feel like Wild goose needs to snipe a KO when you are like in the top 20 of a race and after that you have a pretty good chance of winning. But thats just how i theorise on playing this car when i got my win with BF

@@rayrafletsplaypiano7331 as a wild goose main, you don't need to get KOs to win, it helps but it's more about managing your boosts to keep yourself in the perfect position to farm skyways, every other car suffers a lot being in mid pack because they hemorrhage boost, gold fox and fire stingray are about front running, and falcon i'm not too sure about

Do you actually save time with that forced pickup and set back?

If you minimize it, you can save maybe 1.5 seconds or so, which makes it ideal in time trials. However, you’ll miss out on a good many super sparks in actual races, so whether it’s really worth it or not is debatable.

This exploit has been around since the original F-Zero game. They nerfed it instead of removing it so its unlikely to be touched again. Especially since it can be countered hard with the proper Skyway usage from people close to 1st place.
