How did I not know this existed. I was the only kid on my block that collected Captain Power. Of course we never knew when episodes aired on tv or didn't even have the channel it aired on...

I have the Throne and Badguy jet still in box plus all the figures. But never had the base or the good guy ship sadly. I did know about the base though. My parents bought the two vehicles for me and my brother during a trip to Universal Studios, where they filmed the show. He and I had hours of fun playing with these not just shooting each other but also the interactive video cassettes from the tv show. I think I may even have those in a box somewhere around here still. XD

These Captain Power toys were such a cool idea. I'm surprised nothing really like it has taken off since. I always wanted Captain Power toys, never did have any.

I had CPT Power and maybe Dread but that was the extent of it for me. I was infatuated with the show for a couple months but it was hard to catch on air so I lost interest sadly...

@@tydiriumhanger1320, I hear that. Where I grew up I don't really remember running across the toys either, which decreased my interest.

Just looking at that rover vehicle, are those wheels the same as the MOTU Road Ripper? I was just playing with mine putting inside a display case and those wheels look identical. I know MOTU is Mattel, was Captain Power as well? And wow - what a great review and awesome playlet! I remember when my Nana got us the dread walker and 2 figures to keep at her house to play with when we came over. The interactivity of this set is just so imaginative. I really wish companies were advancing electronics more like this - this set was so next-level. I always imagined what the laser stuff did, but I never got a chance to own any of it. This was perfectly demonstrated and I'm glad your kids appreciated it too!

I never actually saw this playset but I did heard about it. Capt. Jonathan Power will surely approve this

I recall that(or similar) light sensing gimmick in a couple toy lines from the day but I have zero memory of this franchise. Interestingly after I looked it up J. Michael Straczynski cut his teeth on this series before Babyon5 and writting several seminal(for better or worse) Spiderman comic's in the late 90's early 00's.

Lazer tag, Photon, Bravestarr and even Galaxy Rangers had similar gimmicks with the lights. Mattel seems to have done this the best!

I loved this line. I had no idea that this play set came out. I got the ships and figures the. It seemed they just went away in my area. Now looking at the back this is what Boulder Mountain should have had in the Mask line

True those chairs in the main areas look an awful lot like the M.A.S.K Power up area...

Great video Mike!! Just of Topic, have you ever thought about doing a Versus Video on Xtransbots Menasor vs Dx9 Menasor?...would love to hear your opinion?🤔..personally I think the Bot modes goes to Dx9, while the Combine and vehicle mode goes to Xtransbots. As always great video Mike!!♥️

Is it possible the top of the base/mountain is supposed to be covered in snow?

Beware of the Golden Plastic Syndrome though... I would be VERY careful when handling those parts.

That it did! They are both really great in their own ways for different reasons.
