Just watching someone casting explosion on something for a date sounds fun, especially when it's on something you don't like.

I'm calling Aqua out girl doesn't want to fight the devil king army, yet she summons us and won't let us die till they're gone, man if she ain't useless she's troublesome

Lots of people have said they think the ring just doesn't fit on that finger. In the books/manga the ring can change size, and she does a party trick by making it disappear and not knowing how to bring it back. So the scene was just continued clowning on Mitsurugi but in this episode I don't really get it without the punch line. Someone else pointed out that he didn't have his (cheat item) sword with him but Chris's spidey sense was feeling something at the castle. So this scene might just be to remind us he is around.

Well, they go somewhere nice, she has fun doing explosion - and on the way back Kazuma gets a feel of her body, what he already commited was why he agreed to do the explosion walks with her. So a win-win situation even so Kazuma was tricked into it by the bait word "date"

@@NiersFloaternot really tricked, sure she said it was a date, and in all honesty it was. They already always go out for explosion magic, but megumin considered this one a date, there was no reason for her to call it a date to trick kazuma if they already always go out anyways.

One could say that their date was like a series of explosions.....of joy

By the way the magic hammer is from a japanese fairy tail called Omusubi kororin(Rolling rice balls). It's a story about an old man who befriended mouses after gaving them rice balls for their song. They gave him that money making hammer for gratitude. It just shows that that corps(which also has the design of the old man) is an isekaied japanese.

Each episode feels like I'm watching It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

I do like that they gave us a look at just how much bigger Megu's Explosion really is after the boost from the movie. Before she was making large craters about 200 or so feet across, now she's nuking entire city blocks at a time

In anime they often show analogies for what happens if it gets to titillating - especially in connection with maybe minors. It was a hint but not the reveal. There have been a few hints, they both have the same facial scar (though Eris' scar is a lot more subtle), same hair color, same bust size (though Eris pads her chest to hide this) and same voice actor. Eris also has talked about how Darkness is her most loyal follower but has no friends, yet Darkness talks about how Chris is her only friend who first showed up after she prayed to Eris.
