it is for some satisfaction psychologically for the parents. Normal kids would find a way to defeat the mechanism by the time they are 2 years old or more.

Looks great, odd question but say if the escapee tried to crawl under it, though it can lock could it simply not just lift up with little force? Thanks for the vid.
