WTF DOES “OG KPOP STAN" EVEN MEAN?!
Supposedly "original gangster”, can be seen as “old generation", personally viewed as “old-school”.🤓
I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Korean and rap music were my coping mechanisms from the bullying I experienced in middle school through high school and my love for the genre has stuck by me ever since.
Unfortunately, I took a huge break from Korean music around 2015 when I was officially diagnosed with lupus nephritis and seizures; I was receiving and battling years of chemotherapy and dialysis along with taking 32 pills a day, so I had no mental/emotional/spiritual room to keep myself updated with the genre. Luckily, I'm in remission now! Doesn't mean that lupus and seizures are gone because I am still very capable of frequent flare-ups of I don't take care of myself, but I make sure to do so enough to manage and live as "normally" as possible.
When I made this KZread name, I was thinking from my graphic-design-major perspective of a brand that will not only describe what my content will be about but will also align with the times, and y’all know that “Kpop stans” have been a thang for awhile now so hence the cringe-worthy title, OG KPOP STAN. (My love for Eminem is also relevant.😂) ALSO! Just to be SUPER clear- me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" does NOT mean that anyone who's listened to kpop after me is inferior or less-than. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time. Please don’t get that sh*t twisted.😛

I think Everglow established itself with the 'female warrior' concept. 'Adio's started it off with the military uniforms and then 'La Da Di' and 'First' cemented it.

I agree! Girl crush as a concept is more of looking tough, but I think female warrior really fits EVERGLOW’s concept more- with their empowering and inspirational lyrics.

just to let you know, BBTRIPPIN, the squad who does mostly all of the choreos of ATEEZ did this choreo for the girls, so I'm super proud of how EVERGLOW literally snapped this dance and concept! Amazing!

@@eatingbaconnie bg dance mostly tends to have control centered dance and that's exactly what eg did which is something gg suprisingly doesn't do (honestly i never seen any gg did that not even dreamcatcher or loona, itzy's mitm kinda give me that vibe). Nothing to do about it's being harder choreo or anything 🙄

Holy shit no wonder the choreo was awesome. I had my suspicions it was BBTrippin since some moves were familiar. So that's why musicality was on point.
I’ve liked Everglow since their debut, but this one shot them super far up my favourites list, number two maybe, barely under Dreamcatcher for me. I like how Everglow is carving out their own lane, similar to DC. You don’t need to be strictly cute or girl crush to make great stuff, they’re doing their own thing while flexing their talent, this was an amazing comeback

When I first found out about this fact everything started to make sense haha I was watching the choreo like "wait.. this has a style that is reminding me of something, but idk what..."
I think you’re one of the few people I’ve seen reacting to the background vocals on the bridge. They are so beautiful and haunting! I loved this comeback. The way they danced was amazing and didn’t seem like a typical girl group dance. It almost seemed like a boy group dance. I don’t want to offend anyone by saying that but I honestly loved that. And it proved that the girls can dance just as hard core as the boys.
The way Onda popped off in the end...blew me away!!

I am not sure if you notice, but BBTRIPPIN, Ateez's resident choreo team choreographed this piece. It's so phenomenal! The energy really hits differently this time. EVERGLOW released bops after bops after bops and they did not disappoint with this one! Damn!
I was so excited for you to check this comeback! And oh my goodness Onda’s facial expressions during the dance break knocked me tf out! She was eating that dance break up! It’s crazy how much her facial expressions have improved since debut. I legit held my breath during the dance break bc it was so intense and every member had so much swag during it. I wasn’t expecting something the bold and swag like from Everglow, at least not to this level. They always continue to surprise Forevers each comeback!
