Train Dude that’s essentially what they where. If u heard him clear enough he said they were F40PHM-2 shells on an AC traction frames.

Both F69s still exist they are still at NRE but most of their parts have been removed off of them the whole locomotive shell is still intact though

Also 450’s horn could totally be called a K1LA

It’s unknown where 450 is but from what I see with 451 it’s looks to be in good condition and may go to a museum in the future

Those are F40PHM-2/3s, which have the same body shell, but a different prime mover and DC traction.

The 450's horn sounds nothing like a K5LA. (1:05)

No, those are single chime horns on the rear. 5 chime consultants has a clip of 450's K5. It does sound strange, although I think it is because of the recording equipment at the time. All bells were working.

I know the numbers of the K5LA, 5, 4a, 3a, 2, and 1. The 5 4a 2 and 1 are both dead, except for 3a

At least one of the F69s is still in Mt. Vernon (I believe #450). I just saw it a couple of weeks ago.

Incorrect. Phase IIIa is not a real paint scheme, it is simply Phase III.

I swear I have gotten this comment on all of my videos. I know it is not an official scheme according to Amtrak but I am just being exact. Phase III could mean the P40 variant. (Phase IIIb)

WorldwideRailfanTV If you were being exact, you would call it Phase III and not IIIa/b/c etc. Amtrak acknowledges there are variations, but does not give them extra letters because the Phase names are branding terms. "Being exact" is kind of a lame excuse.

Metras units are different being known as F40PHMs they are mechanically different then the F69PHACs
