FIRE is more towards Saving and getting relieved from job that doesn't make you happy and then start doing something that excites you. Not staying doing nothing.

Financial independence is very important, early retirement doesn't mean being ideal ,it gives confidence to work when ever we want , and allocating extra time to family, our hobbies, apart from our work , as you said journey is important thank you for your prospective

I retired 12 years ago. I never thought of 'retirement happiness ' , when I was in service. Also, I did not postpone my happiness to post superannuation period. I enjoyed both work and leisure time. Now I got lot of time and I am not bored either. I really wonder how the world is busy in inventing non-existing issues😮

Your journey could be one of the leading examples on how to live. You enjoyed the journey and not the destination. On the other hand, most of them are focused only on destination. They imagine a day which is free of responsibility and financial worries who fail to enjoy the journey. I feel that this problem is real and existant. FIRE moment may not be exactly attempting to get totally jobless. It is more to do with mitigating the futures financial risk, quitting that high paying job which you dislike, and pursuing something which you actually like.

Its not about retiring Permenantly , its about the freedom to do what you like (work) without the hazzle of worring about money
