Looks to be a lovely radio. Great idea with the fan. I look forward to seeing the video on power output, I passed my foundation this week and I'm hoping the mid power will be closer to 10watts so I don't have to limit to 5w. I'm very much considering this as my first mobile radio.

Forgive the novice question but which way is the fan working. To draw the heat away or blow cool air onto the radio.

I've got this radio on the way, and I'm trying to get it programmed on the computer so I can start playing right away. I can't figure out what a number of the functions you can program to the buttons are, do you you know where I can find a list of the abbreviations and their functions?

Hiya buddy. DTMF tones can be preprogrammed into he radio and selected in the menu I think. I have not tried it personally, I don't think you can manually dial them on the fly. Thanks for watching 🙏😁

Hi Matt, I have just gained my Foundation, now M7BVK. I have just purchased the RT95, like you I was a little surprised by th size of it as you where. I have a very basic knowledge of radios etc. And would welcome some advice, firstly a power unit for it, I have a man cave in my garden with mains electricity. Any recommendations on a PSU. Also antenna, again any recommendations? I have seen on here someone using a car magmount with a metal base , no sure what you think of this? Any help or advise from you or your subscribers would be gratefully appreciated. Kind regards Pete M7BVK

Hi Pete! Congratulations and welcome to the hobby! You will really enjoy it 😜 I started when I was an m6 with a little 10 amp PSU as only needed 10w. It was a linear one but I would recommend you get a 30amp switch mode supply as there only cheap (£50 ish) and will grow with you. I would get from one of the reputable dealers, like Moonraker, Nevada radio or Martin lynch. With the antenna I wouldn't recommend a mag mount for home use due to needing a substantial ground plane. There best suited for the car. I would go for a small co linear antenna like the diamond x30 or x50, on a pole on the side of your man cave 😜🙏 Enjoy the hobby bud and there's loads of people that will help along the way. If you get into the digital side of things I have done a complete guide to dmr and fusion. Maybe of interest to you as you can talk all over the world using gateways and repeater. Also check for repeaters close to you that have echolink! You can get roundthe world with that to on analogue so that little radio you have will work perfectly. 73 bud 👌
